Sept 28th 15: Boring week

There are weeks missing completely a spectacular story. Weeks that confirm what was state seven days ago. Such is this.

Sido Feat. Andreas Bourani spend a third week at the very top with Astronaut. Coinscidently the last track spending three weeks at #1 did it with same figure: One sole week as a beginning and later a returning with two weeks. I speak of Sugar by Robin Schulz Feat. Francesco Yates
The last song in German holding firm for three weeks came from CRO and was Bye Bye in July this current year.

The only new song inside the top10 rises softly two places to #9. It is the title track of the enormously successful German movie Fack ju Göhte 2 which already had three million viewers in nine days. The song is called Wild & Free and comes by the like of LENA. It is her sicth Top 10 hit within five years–so she is the most successfull German female of this current decade.

Highest new entry comes in at #26. It is the new offering by Ellie Goulding called On My Mind.

Let's have a look further down the list. At #41 there lands in its 6th chart week Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth Feat. Meghan Trainor. The former British nr.1 single only slowly catches fire in Germany.
AVICII's latest offering For A Better Day goes 57–42 in its 4th chart week and The Weeknd sees his The Hills rise to a new peak at #44 in its 15th chart week.
Another climber comes in at #46 in the face of OMI and his Hula Hoop which for the first time ranks over predecessor and #1 hit Cheerleader.

More "What A Man"

Marlon Roudette holds firm at number 1 with the ballad New Age. It is the third consecutive week and he now as a solo artist matches the result achieved in 2006 as part of duo Mattafix. This recent week his debut album Matter Fixed enters the album list at number 6 – a feat never reached with his former project. To tell some more stories: Marlon Roudette is the first British act staying at number 1 for at least three weeks since late 2009. Back than Robbie Williams brought Bodies to top the singles’ list for four weeks.

A second track from the original Soundtrack of the Matthias Schweighöfer movie What A Man enters the German list this recent issue. It is the title track performed by Lena. The song had a chart career already 17 years ago when the version of Salt’n’Pepa with En Vogue hit the charts and climbed to number 39. The newly recorded version is far and away the most popular by entering directly at number 21. The original sung by Linda Lyndell never reached the charts here.




Rising one place to number 2 MAROON 5 Featuring Christina Aguilera reach a new peak with Moves Like Jagger. MAROON 5 already had been announced having their biggest hit for all times. Christina Aguilera by now enters a position last seen in 2006 with her single Hurt.

Highest new entry is a so far download only track. It is the first lift from Sean Paul’s upcoming yet untitled album which is announced for early 2012. Got 2 Luv U is the first single of the artist touching the Top 10 since We Be Burnin’ climbed to number 5 in autumn 2005. In his whole 9 years long chart career Sean Paul only collected 4 Top 10 hits. Entering the survey at number 9 this week the star seems back to known power. Let’s wait till the full CD release at 16th September will have effect of the list .

Got U Love U features guest vocals by Alexis Jordan – one of the new comers of the year. She oddly missed the upper ranks with her debut Happiness -– to me one of the most catching pop songs this year. Alongside Sean Paul she finally becomes a hit singer. Whether she can stand alone and gain hits is a question for the future.

Is there more than Lena?

Lena is not #1 – what a shame – scandal! … these were the headlines of some blogs watching the charts. Well – Lena was the main story in week 18th to 24th February. But YES – we do have a few other chart actions too.

First of all we do have 14 new tracks in the list plus 6 old tracks re-entering the chart. That is the most for this year at all – yeah! Finally the market is alive. 14 new tracks that’s a feat we saw last in November 2009 – you see, the music industry had a very long winter break. 20 tracks which where not listed a fortnight ago – well, we had it last time in June 2010. Almost a year ago. There is something going on.

One of the further actions takes place right at #5. That’s the place where Taio Cruz & Kylie land with their single Higher. It is the 11th chart week for the track which started end of December at a somehow low #10. I had a short story about the song a few weeks ago. At this time I was really convinced that the slow burning Higher was a result of weak or even no new releases. Now this argument doesn’t match anymore. Honestly I can’t find a reason why the song is rising continously: Higher sneaks in the Nielsen airplay charts around #21, well Kylie started her Aphrodite tour – but in Denmark ,no new mixes available … The track rises up the list nonetheless entering it’s highest rank so far this recent week. Taio Cruz now matches the result he got with his very first German chart hit Break Your Heart almost 10 months ago. Kylie now collects only her 4th top 5 single in Germany – and Higher is so far her second longest running top 10 hit beaten only by Can’t Get You Out Of My Head which spent 12 weeks inside the German top 10 in 2001/02.

Two tracks enter the German charts this week promoted by commercial TV spots. The first is Young Blood from New Zealandian The Naked and Famous used by German music TV channel VIVA to support their complete re-design in 2011. The second is A Night Light This from Dutch Caro Emerald known for its use in a commercial spot for Martini.

11-09: The Lena-Charts

The story of this week is all about Lena. Winner of last year’s Eurovision contest and straight on the way to enter the contest again in Dusseldorf. In the last few weeks the German TV audience was asked to choose the song she should interprete on 14th of May. Three personality shows for Lena – that’s a lot of hype. Critical anticipation in almost all media guaranteed ... wanna have an example? Just have a look at very down to earth site oljo.de.

A lot of hype also means a lot of advertisement. W ehad the case last week seeing Lady Gaga shooting to no.2 – by the way: where is she gone this week? Lena doubles that feat this week. Taken By A Stranger enters the recent list right at no.2 by donwload sales only. Also four of the five other song proposals enter the list as media control reports today. Additionally her winning song from last year Satellite re-enters the list. By this Lena does have six tracks within the top 100 list. The last act doing so was French DJ David Guetta last August/September.

Taken By A Stranger is the fourth top10 hit for Lena within 12 months. She now joins Katy Perry who did it with her last four singles – of course on one of the four she appeared as featured artist. For Lena only original tracks count.

Well – the German star for Dusseldorf has some impact on the charts. But far less than some would assume. It is not at all the record breaking feat she did. I guess the very strict policy of availibility forced more or less the fast decreasing interest . Maybe the huge impact will follow next week. Then sales of the physical CD release are taken into acount. So far I can tell the download numbers are dying down heavily right now.



Two very specific chart actions took place within the week 18th to 24th February. First one concerns the recent Britney Spears single Hold It Against Me. Finally it was released on CD also in Germany. After breaking a lot of records worldwide and shooting to no.1 in almost every country a month ago it totally fails in Germany (and Austria as well). Nobody really knows why in these two countries (and in the UK) the release schedule differed that much from all the rest of the world. And it seems that such an delay influences a lot the success of a track. It doubles btw the situation we witnessed with her latest release 3. Don’t know why but to me it looks as the German company distributing Britney’s releases has not much interest in supporting her career.

Second German anomaly this week comes due to an flash mob by fans of Depeche Mode. Exactly 30 years after they first entered the British charts with Dreaming Of Me the track does so for the first time in Germany. It is the band’s 47th chart entry in Germany. Although this download action was a worldwide activity it only lead to an chart entry in Germany meaning the band does have it’s biggest fan base here.

28th of May: King Soccer is entering the top

Wasn’t it predictable? Even more: assured. K’NAAN is entering the top position of Germany’s official media control charts. The hymn of the FIFA-championship Wavin’ Flag is climbing two places in it's third week and leaves former top hit Don’t Believe by recent superstar Mehrzad Marashi down at number 4. The question now is: will K’NAAN stand at the top for the next weeks as the event is still two weeks (if you considering the evaluation time span three weeks) ahead? Or will german Eurovision participant Lena come back to interrupt the nr.1 run? At this very moment (a few hours before the contest is taking place) the german medias are still seeing "our" Lena winning. But well – have you followed the contest over the recent past? Do you think a regular pop song without any show effect will really have the chance of beating entries from Azerbaidshan, Greece, Turkey or even Iceland? Well … let's talk later about that.

For now K'NAAN is the fourth newcomer in 2010 entering the top position. All four – stromae, Lena Meyer-Landrut, Mehrzad Marashi and K'NAAN – did it consecutively. Last time we had this situation was 2004 when Eamon gave the crown to Moldavian O-Zone who turned it to Aventura and later on to Eric Prydz. Just to mention it – before Eamon an artist named Mario Winans entered the top with his first chart single but with the help of two stars in the face of Enya and P. Diddy. The four "real" newcomer spent alltogether 30 weeks at the top. Far away from the recent 12 weeks run of K'NAAN and friends.

In 2010 K'NAAN is the 8th artist entering the top position. Last year we had just five at the end of May cause of the Nr.1 occupying Poker Face by Lady Gaga.


Highest new entry of the week is Der Himmel soll warten (Heaven shall wait) by an unexpected collaboration between german rap star Sido and pop singer Adel Tawil. The track is the pre-release of following MTV unplugged album of the Berlin based rap star. He is so far the seventh german artist chosen for the MTV serial and only the second hiphop artist after Die Fantastischen Vier which published their unplugged set in 2000. The album marks a further step in the commercial battle between the two main german rap artists Bushido and Sido. Both acting for a few years as heavy mainstream acts after years of underground success. Bushido's last coup dates back to february this year when is biographical movie Zeiten ändern dich (Times change you) plus same titled album which hit the upper ranks of the charts. Leading single track Alles wird gut (All will be well) hit straight to number 10 at the singles charts.

While Bushido is staying at his well known level of brutality, violence, simplicity and machismo (with clearly sexist attitude) his competitor Sido changed from the bad ghetto kid to a more balanced and equalized artist. His outfit changed from an anonymous and angry war fighter to an gentle and sensitive father figure. In 2009 he even showed up as a supporter for the national election with an own TV show. Now with being chosen by MTV for its unplugged serie he enters finally the status of an highly accepted pop star. On the album one can find guests like Berlin alternative rap collective K.I.Z., Stephan Remmler famous as a member of 80's band Trio and Adel Tawil one of the most successfull german artists nowadays.

In commercial terms the battle between Sido and Bushido is pendant: Der Himmel soll warten is Sido's third top 10 single, Bushido's history counts four. Nr. 2 for the recent release is the best position Sido ever reached, Bushido had have a nr.4 hit with Alles verloren (Everything lost) in 2007.

The track itself speaks about the lust for life, unaccomplished dreams and wishes. The lyrics took clearly the position of a (young) man praying to an unnamed god. This fact is undoubtable a compromise to Adel Tawil who's lyrics always have a connection to christianity and godliness. For Sido itself such sound is quiet new and could make one wondering about an upcoming age crisis.

Adel Tawil strikes with the collaboration for a third consecutive time nr. 2 or better as a solo artist. Last year he acccompanied Cassandra Steen on her hit Stadt (Town). As a member of pop duo Ich + Ich he also hit nr.1 last year with Pflaster (Band-aid) which is still present at the list.


Completing the top 3 german band UNHEILIG is turning once again its moving with Geboren um zu leben (Born For Living). It is the 16th consecutive week within the german top 5 – far and away the best result 2010 so far.


Turning back in the top 10 is jason derülo with his second hit single In My Head. After spending two weeks outside the top 10 he now enters a new peak for the song with nr. 9.

14. Mai 2010: Spitzengruppe Mehrzad, Lena, Unheilig

Also noch einmal: Ich entschuldige mich bei allen Fans von DSDS … ihr seid viele. Und es macht euch nichts aus, wie retortenmäßig der Titel auch daherkommt – Mehrzad Marashi schafft es, eine dritte Woche mit Don’t Believe den meistverkauften Song der Woche zu stellen. Vor ihm erreichten das bisher lediglich Superstar 2009 Daniel Schuhmacher mit Anything But Love und 2006 Tobias Regner mit I Still Burn. Beides nicht unbedingt die dauerhaftesten Hitliferanten. Immerhin: Daniel Schuhmacher arbeitet gerade an seinem neuen Album und ist zumindest medial präsent.

Acht Wochen hintereinander stehen nunmehr deutsche Produktionen an der Spitze der media control Singlecharts. Zuletzt gab es das 2007, als sich zwischen dem 13. Juli und 28. September für 12 Wochen lang deutsche Produktionen den Titel in die Hand gaben. Im Einzelnen waren das: Mark Medlock & Dieter Bohlen (You Can Get It), Monrose (Hot Summer), Azad feat. Adel Tawil (Prison Break Anthem (Ich glaub an dich)) und Culcha Candela (Hamma!). Die meisten von ihnen (eigentlich alle bis auf Azad und Monrose – gibt es die überhaupt noch?) gehören ja auch heute noch zu den umsatzstarken Acts aus Deutschland.

Das letzte Mal, dass es zwei deutsche Produktionen hintereinander zu mindestens drei Wochen an der Spitze brachten war 2006. Damals lösten sich Herbert Grönemeyer und die Sportfreunde Stiller mit Zeit, dass sich was dreht bzw. ’54 – ’74 – ’90, 2006 gegenseitig ab, beide brachten es auf jeweils drei Wochen auf der 1. Gefolgt wurde dieses Ringelreispiel von Xavier Naidoo, der mit Danke fünf Wochen lang die Spitze blockierte, und schließlich auch Tokio Hotel, die sich noch mal eine Woche lang mit Der letzte Tag durchsetzen konnten.

Ob die derzeitige Spitzengruppe in ein paar Jahren auch noch so erfolgreich sein wird? Neben Mehrzad Marashi steht auf der 2 nämlich ebenfalls eine Newcomerin, Lena Meyer-Landrut bleibt mit Satellite stark nachgefragt, und auch UNHEILIG sind mit Geboren um zu leben noch beeindruckend hoch platziert, mittlerweile ja auch schon 14 Wochen in den Top 10, das ist zusammen mit Ke$ha’s TiK ToK momentan der längste Top 10-Aufenthalt innerhalb des Jahres 2010.

Jetzt hab ich also wieder nur über Platzierungen geschrieben, obwohl ich das gar nicht wollte. Hmmm … Aber was fällt mir zum aktuellen Top-Hit ein? Das Mehrzad Marashi nach mehrmaligem Hören immer mehr wie Mark Medlock klingt? Geht euch das auch so? Vielleicht kann ich die beiden ja deutlicher voneinander trennen, wenn ihr geplantes Duett rauskommt. Übrigens ein Cover des schon in den 90ern unsäglichen Sweat (A Lala Lala Long). Also ich könnte auf diese Version verzichten. Ehrlich.

07.Mai 2010: Hoppla! Mehrzad Marashi ist nochmal Nr.1

So kann es kommen … Ich habe doch tatsächlich all den herumgeisternden Meldungen Glauben geschenkt und bin fest davon ausgegangen, dieser Superstar macht's nicht lange. Und nun meldet media control, dass Mehrzad Marashi eine zweite Woche lang die deutschen Songcharts anführt. Don't Believe, die Schmusenummer findet genügend Käufer um sich durchzusetzen.

Spitzfindig könnte man natürlich auch behaupten, dass die momentane Konkurrenz auch nicht so weit her ist: auf Platz 2 wird Lena Meyer-Landrut mit Satellite notiert - ein Titel, der auch schon sieben Wochen dabei ist … fünf davon auf der Spitzenposition. Und Platz 3 geht ein bisschen überraschend nochmal an den Grafen und sein Projekt UNHEILIG mit Geboren um zu leben. Durch die Ticker kam grad die Mitteilung, dass die Single nun Gold geholt hat und auch in den Albumcharts holen sich UNHEILIG den Thron zurück und bekommen für Große Freiheit sogar Platin … gute Aussichten für die am 21. Mai erscheinende Nachfolgesingle Für immer.

Und weil Statistik etwas lustiges ist … und damit es nicht heißt, nur weil ich von den Superstars nicht allzu viel halte, würde ich sie immer so nachlässig abhandeln: mit Mehrzad Marashi auf Position 1 haben wir eine Konstellation, wie sie zuletzt im Frühjahr 2008 zu beobachten war: nämlich zwei deutsche Produktionen nacheinander, die mindestens zwei Wochen lang an der Spitze stehen. Und wer schaffte das vor zwei jahren? Passenderweise der damals aktuelle Superstar Thomas Godoj mit seinem Siegertitel Love Is You, der den vorhergehenden Gewinner Mark Medlock samt Summer Love ablöste. Wie sich die Geschichten doch ähneln …

Damit lässt sich also eindeutig feststellen: Casting-Stars sind nach wie vor ein funktionierendes Ding. Ich würd' sagen: DSDS wird garantiert auch 2011 eine Fortsetzung finden, ob es mit dem Eurovisions-Ausscheid ebenso weiter geht … da müssen wir wohl noch zwei Wochen Geduld haben.

30. April 2010: Mehrzad Marashi auf der 1 - na und?

Na da haben sich die Medien (insbesondere die tagesaktuellen Blogs) beinahe überschlagen. Eine Woche lang wurde nahezu im Minutentakt berichtet, wer denn jetzt wo die Nase im Downloadgeschäft vorn hat. Wunderbar polemisch hat das oljo vorgemacht. Bleibt es Lena Meyer-Landrut? Oder wird's dann doch Blümchen oder Led Zeppelin? Hin und her ging es, hier wurde gezählt, da gerechnet und Beschuldigungen (vielleicht auch nichtmal ganz und gar unbegründet) ausgesprochen. Und ganz am Ende steht es dann doch als positive Schlagzeile da: "Lena behält mit Satellite den Allzeit-Download-Rekord." Das ist dann vielleicht auch wirklich erfreulich.

Aber mal von Anfang an: es ist Samstag, DSDS-Finale, die BILD-Medienmaschine arbeitete in den letzten Tagen auf Hochtouren. Skandal und Theater: wird's Mehrzad oder der andere? (wie hieß der doch gleich? - Ach ja Menowin.) Und kaum steht der Gewinner fest, sind auch die Downloadportale geöffnet – natürlich werden sie von den Millionen von Zuschauern auch ordentlich gestürmt: gehört sich ja so für eine Show, die sich damit brüstet Superstars zu produzieren. Etwas seltsam bei der Geschichte natürlich schon die Vertriebspraxis von Plattenfirma SONY: billige Download-Angebote bei gleichzeitiger Anbindung an vor allem konzerneigene Angebote. Aber was heißt hier seltsam? Konsequent triffts da eher: immerhin geht es ja um Profit. Innerhalb von 24 Stunden steht Mehrzad Marashi also auf Platz 1 der iTunes-Charts, Lena rutsch ab, und dann – im Laufe der Tage – können doch Blümchen und Led Zeppelin noch mal ordentlich zulegen und holen bei einzelnen Downloadportalen sogar die Spitze. Natürlich reicht das nicht für die Wochenführung, zumal ab dem 21. April (Mittwoch) auch die CD in den Läden stand. Insofern: Mehrzad Marashi steigt mit Don't Believe direkt an der Spitze der media control-Charts ein, tut es seinen Vorgängern gleich und … tja, das wird nun wirklich spannend: wie lange wird er da wohl bleiben? Vorjahres-Sieger Daniel Schuhmacher brachte es mit seinem Debüt auf drei Wochen … und der wurde medial ja ziemlich bejubelt. Die aktuellen Download-Charts sehen eine Woche nach dem Finale dagegen recht mau aus. Sogar Lena wird da wieder höher notiert, und ihr Sieg beim nationalen Oslo-Ausscheid ist mittlerweile mehr als einen Monat her. Da könnte es also fast passieren, dass ihr Abrutschen auf Rang 2 nur ein kurzes Intermezzo ist und sie in der kommenden Ausgabe schon wieder von ganz oben grüßt …

Das ist natürlich alles höchst spekulativ, zumal da auch noch einige andere starke Konkurrenten in den Startlöchern stehen. Was allerdings garantiert nicht passieren wird: dass die Anti-DSDS-Songs sich nochmal weit vorn platzieren. In dieser Woche hat es ja für Blümchen und ihren Boomerang immerhin bis zu Platz 7 gereicht, was schon mal … nunja … doch auch ziemlich stark ist. Denn ob jetzt der Mainstream-Happy-Techno-Sound der 90er wirklich viel besser ist als der Bohlen-Kuschel-Pop der 10er … ? Lustiger ist er allemal. Und was richtig schräg ist: mit der konzertierten Download-Aktion entert Blümchens Track erstmals seit Erscheinen die Top 10. Im Jahr 1996 war nämlich bei Platz 11 Schluss. Und damit ist Boomerang ziemlich eindeutig der älteste Titel, der es bislang im Jahr 2010 in die Top 10 gebracht hat. Wenn in den folgenden Monaten nicht noch mehr solche Aktionen folgen, dann dürfte dies vermutlich auch so bleiben. Allerdings … da sind ja in der Vergangenheit schon ganz andere Dinge passiert.

Ähnliches – oder eigentlich wesentlich Sensationelleres – lässt sich über den zweiten Anti-DSDS-Song sagen. Musikalisch wahrhaftig das komplette Gegenteil zum Casting-Sound wurde Led Zeppelin mit Stairway To Heaven als Protest-Download propagiert. Die Aktion begann etwas später (wenn ich mich recht erinnere, dann war Mittwoch der eigentliche Start) und in nur zwei Tagen brachte es der Titel zu einem Platz 15 in den offiziellen media control-Charts. Das wirklich Aufregende: Stairway To Heaven gehört zu den bekanntesten Titeln von Led Zeppelin, war aber niemals wirklich als Single erhältlich. Bei discogs ist immerhin eine Promo 7" aus dem Jahr 72 aufgeführt – allerdings nur in den USA erschienen. 2007/08 erschien dann der Back-Katalog in einer remastered Version noch einmal komplett und damit dann auch Stairway To Heaven zumindest als virtuelle Single. Platzieren konnte sich der Titel allerdings lediglich einmal auf Rang 71 und später im Nachzug von solchen Fernsehshows wie "Die ultimative Chartshow" oder ähnliches. Nun also wird einer der wichtigsten Rocktitel der Musikgeschichte überhaupt erstmals wirklich in Massen verkauft und taucht in den Charts auf. In der insgesamt erst fünften Chartwoche platziert sich Stairway To heaven also in den Top 20 – Ironie des Schicksals: die 85er Coverversion der FAR Corporation (von und mit Frank Farian) hat nach wie vor mit Platz 14 die Bestplatzierung zu Buche stehen. So viel also zum Thema "Was spiegeln Charts wirklich wider".

26. April 2010: Casting-Superstar-Lawine in Sicht

Eines muss man Dieter Bohlen schon lassen: vermarkten kann er sich und seine Produkte sensationell gut. Die gerade zu Ende gegangene DSDS-Staffel soll ja angeblich wieder alle möglichen Zuschauer-Rekorde gebrochen haben. Als Nicht-Fan hab ich allerdings zuerst gar nicht mitbekommen, dass die Show schon wieder läuft. Und auch der Effekt von gesteigerten Verkäufen der interpretierten Titel hielt sich ein wenig in Grenzen. Zum Ende hin gab es dann natürlich schnell noch eine Menge Skandalberichterstattung um das Interesse anzuheizen … und prompt war die Finalshow dann die meistgesehene aller Staffeln.

Aber jetzt greife ich der Zeit schon ein wenig voraus, denn das, was sich gerade in den aktuellen media control-Charts wiederspiegelt ist das Halbfinale vom 10. April. Und dort durfte der einzige wirklich länger erfolgreiche Superstar Mark Medlock seine neue Single Real Love präsentieren. Beste Sendezeit, beste Platzierung für die Zielgruppe und: Taktisch perfekt gesetzt, eine Woche vorm Finale, die Superstars geben sich im Kommerzgeschäft sozusagen die Klinke in die Hand.

Nun, meine persönlichen Erwartungen an den neuen Medlock-Titel waren nicht sehr hoch, hab ich hier schon mehrfach betont: gut durchkalkuliert, immer mit Südsee-Träumen-Video, irgendwie ja auch eingängig … im Grunde ein sicherer Hit. Als ich dann aber das erste Mal das Video sah, hab ich gedacht: oops, was hat der denn mit seinem Bart gemacht? Und dann nach einer Minute: Weißer Anzug – das geht gar nicht! Und wenn ich mir den Tanzstil ansehe … als Nicht-Fan würd ich sagen: früher war der cooler. Also der ganze Typ. Auch wenn er vielleicht nicht mal wirklich cool war. ––– So, nun schreib ich mich hier schon wieder um Kopf und Kragen und werd vermutlich wieder eine Menge Schelte einfangen. Hey, ihr dürft den Typen finden wie ihr wollt. Und ihr dürft auch seine Musik mögen. Dass das Schema seiner Hits irgendwie immer ähnlich ist, könnt ihr allerdings nicht bestreiten. Na gut, der Vocoder oder sagen wir doch Autotune-Effekt ist wohl neu. Schielt da jemand auf den amerikanischen Pop-Markt?

Real Love ist also die geschickt platzierte Single zum nächsten Album namens Rainbow's End, geplante Veröffentlichung am 30. April. Und Real Love ist in der media control-Chartausgabe vom 23. April der beste CD-Neustart: Wird auf Platz 2 gemeldet und – yes – das ist der siebte Top 5-Hit in Folge. Das ist dann schonmal gar nicht schlecht. In der letzten Woche hab ich ja grad über Lady Gaga philosophiert: sechs Top 10 Hits in Folge, dazu gehören auch solche "schwachen" Platzierungen wie Rang 10 und 7 … Da ist der Herr Medlock also doch um einiges stabiler. Er pirscht sich momentan an die Jungs von Tokio Hotel, die immerhin in den letzten fünf Jahren acht Top 5-Hits in Folge vorgelegt haben. Das ist jetzt doch mal ein lustiges Duell.

Wahrscheinlich hatte Mark Medlock (und mit ihm Dieter Bohlen) von einem neuen Nr.1-Hit geträumt. Wäre dann immerhin der vierte gewesen. Aber, da hat die andere Casting-Show in Form von Lena Meyer-Landrut, neu jetzt nur noch Lena, den Markt fest im Griff. Satellite steht zum fünften Mal hintereinander auf der Spitzenposition. Ordentlich! Die letzte deutsche Produktion mit solch einem Erfolg war Allein allein von der Dresdner Band Polarkreis 18, die im November 2008 alles in ihren Bann zogen.

Auch Lena hat gerade soeben ihr Album angekündigt. My Cassette Player heißt es und erscheint am 7. Mai. Und dann beginnt ja sowieso die heiße Phase in Oslo. Vorher allerdings – und genau schon in der nächsten Woche - wird DSDS-Gewinner Mehrzad Marashi mit Don't Believe die Liste anführen. Da sind sich alle einig, nur wie lange, das ist mal sehr umstritten. Das heißt auch: in der nächsten Woche wird wohl das Spitzentrio der deutschen Charts komplett aus deutschen Casting-Show-Gewinner(inne)n bestehen. Ich schätze mal: das gabs vorher noch nie. – Dass sich Dance-Hit Alors On Danse von stromae da noch irgendwie dazwischenschieben kann, ist aussichtslos. Zumal ja auch die Anti-DSDS-Titel von Blümchen und Led Zeppelin ordentlich Umsatz verbuchen können. – Nun ja, das könnt ihr alles an anderer Stelle lesen. Und das Ergebnis werden wir spätestens Dienstag erfahren, wenn media control die erste Pressemitteilung zu den kommenden Charts herausgibt. Derweil können wir uns auch ein wenig in anderen musikalischen Gefilden umhören.
