Dec 9th 16: Record Breaking Human

As Human spends an 11th week at #1 it is now the longest running #1 hit of 2016. And no other song is able to beat that result. At the beginning of 2016 Adele still occupied the top spot with her Hello. Indeed that song also spent 11 week as the best sold–in 2016 she only had a short two weeks run at the top.
Additionally to the honour mentioned above Rag'n'Bone Man now is the only British solo male who continued as long since the beginning of the weekly charts in 2017. Going back to times when charts where issued twice per month Rory Graham stands in the shadow of Tom Jones whose Delilah had an massive two and a half months run (13 weeks) at the top of the German charts in May to July 1968.

Chöre by Mark Forster rises a further place now ranking at #3. It is the singer's third hit (respectively fourth hit if one counts the EFF collaboration as well) that reaches the top 3. Within three years.

After releasing a Christmas version of their hit Holz the 257ers see the song rising again: past week it had an 18–12 vault, this week the song lands at its peak position at #7 again. I'm afraid this ain't the end for that production …

The only new entry on the top 10 comes from Max Giesinger. His Wenn sie tanzt already peaked at #14 three weeks ago. This week the song again climbs up the list–his appearances on TV as alongside Andreas Gabalier on the MTV unplugged concert and on the Merci Udo show probably propelled his recent song.

Biggest gainers are–of course–Christmas classics. Last Christmas by Wham! started past week at #48, for the very first time one rank behind All I Want For Christmas Is You recorded by Mariah Carey. The song now jumps 34 places to #14. It is the best result since 2009. The Mariah Carey song can gain 25 places sitting pretty at #22 right now.
Also Hallelujah profits of the seasonal mood. The a capella version by the Pentatonix gain 28 places this week reaching a new peak for the composition at all with #24. The original recording by Leonard Cohen stopped at #27 a few weeks before.
And Wonderful Dream (Holidays Are Coming) by Melanie Thornton takes a leap of 39 ranks to #57.

Newly inside the top 20 Bad Ideas by alle farben is. It is the fourth top 20 hit within three years.

Highest new entry comes in at #21. It is Alan Walker's third single Alone that stops by. According to the recent iTunes list the song has some more power without the huge impact Faded had a year ago. That one rises once again 84–68 in its 48th chart week.

Since the new Apple Music commercial is aired on TV background song Ahnma by Beginner Feat. Gzuz & Gentleman turns up again. The track gains 24 places this week landing at #31, the highest position since late September.
Kerstin Ott performs better. Her album Herzbewohner enters #16–the hit single Die immer lacht (remixed by Stereoact can rise again 20 places to #65.

An oddity went on around the release of John Legend's recent album Darkness And Light. It didn't manage to chart but the single Love Me Now did so and now appears at a re-entry at #59. On its first appearance in October it reached #79.

The new version of The Mack by Nevada Feat. Mark Morrison and Fetty Wap goes 86-75 in its third week.

Nov 18th 16: Leonard Cohen + Omnipresent German Rapstars

It is week no. eight for Human by Rag'n'Bone Man at the top of the German list. The song now matches the result of New Age by Marlon Roudette which also had an eight weeks run at #1 in autumn 2011. Both singers now are best performing British male solo performers of this century so far. 25 years back it was Phil Collins with Another Day In Paradise who performed better.

Whether Rory Graham will match or even break this record really depends on how strong Clean Bandit will perform next days. So far Rockabye climbs one place to runner's up position and finally brings British music back to full performance. The first time since January 2015 the first two places are occupied by British artists. Funny fact besides: The act at #2 back than also was Clean Bandit well performing with its last hit single Real Love.
With four tracks of the top 10 involving British acts the country really have a strong presence in music business right now.

Climbing seven places to #6 Mark Forster once again becomes the best performing German act and brings back to top 10 status a song in German. Chöre is part of the official movie score to Willkommen bei den Hartmanns which leads the German movie charts for a second week. It is Mark Forster's fourth top 10 hit under his own name and the second this year. As part of EFF he does have a third top 10 hit under his belt and so follows as second best performaing act of the year behind Justin Bieber.

Talking 'bout Justin Bieber: As Let Me Love You this weeks leaves the top 10 the longest running top 10 song now is Sound Of Silence in the version of USAmerican Disturbed. It sits pretty at #7 in its 13th top 10 week–spending 24 weeks at all inside the German charts.

The current #1 in the US is the biggest gainer inside the German charts. It is the first chart entry for Rae Sremmurd Black Beatles that jumps 56 places to #25. It is very likely that we will see the track rising further next weeks.

After the death of Canadian Leonard Cohen his most famous songs find a way into the list as there is at first Hallelujah first recorded in 1984. The song charts at #27 for the very first time–at least in the version of Leonard Cohen himself. It charted before by Jeff Buckley in 2012 (18 years after it was recorded) Xavier Naidoo in 2014 and by the Pentatonix a week ago. The best performance so far had the version of Xavier Naidoo peaking at #27 too.
Leonard Cohen himself only had one chart hit before. It was his single Lover Lover Lover that peaked at #9 in early 1975. After 42 and a half year the singer is back in the list. It is the longest absence from the list since weekly charts are released. If one considers the monthly lists as well Leonard Cohen is beaten by Paul Kuhn who had an absence of 43 years and 153 days, Scott McKenzy who re-entered the list after 44 years and 197 days and Evy Jacob who reappeared in 2011 as member of the Dschungel Allstars after 45 years and 241 days. In June 1965 she charted as member of the Jacob Sisters.
With a span of almost 43 years Leonard Cohen has the third longest presence on the weekly lists after José Felícíano and Paul McCartney.
Leonard Cohen has two more tracks invading the charts. At #61 his very first single Suzanne from 1967 charts for the very first time. In France the song shot to #3 this current week. At #81 the title track of his latest album You Want It Darker appears. The album meanwhile occupies #2.

A few places below the next teaser track for KC Rebell's new album Abstand arrives. The track calls TelVision and features his mate PA Sports as well as Kianush and Kollegah. Latter one now collects his 50th chart entry at all. This result falls short behind the one of Depeche Mode and Scooter but only needed four years to achieve such an amount.
The same week Sido can launch a 45th chart hit with Masafaka landing at #65. He now overtook Michael Jackson (44 hits) and falls short of The Rolling Stones (46 hits).
All this sounds impressive but is only cute by watching the result of master Bushido. He appears this current week as featured artist on a 62nd chart entry mentioning his name. (Statements by Shindy at #67) It is as much as Madonna collected in her whole career. But the rapper additionally has three more hits undercover as a member of Berlins Most Wanted and 23. He officially can be called the second most active artist of all time. Leader of the list still is Peter Alexander with 82 different entries.

Rising tracks to watch:
Sexual by Neiked Feat. Dyo going 62–46 in its fifth week
Bad Ideas by alle farben rising slightly 57–47 in its fifth week

June 17th 16: King Soccer Is Back

From one week to the other everything has changed. We do have a new #1 flying there from #19 thanks to an event started just a week ago. This One's For You serves as the official song for the UEFA Euro 2016 and it was promoted on the opening ceremony as well as on every single match broadcasted almost worldwide. So it was a certain thing having this song as a hit. Although Germany is only the second country where it tops the charts–that might change in some days time.

So far This One's For You sets some visible marks. The leap from #19 qualifies the song as one of the five biggest jumps to #1 of all time. By replaceing a French production it repeats the feat done by The Avener in October 2014.

David Guetta tops the charts with This One's For You for the fourth time–alone in this current decade he already had three #1 hits so he joins the likes of CRO, Rihanna, Adele and Pharrell Williams.
Singer Zara Larsson cashes in her first #1 appearance. She is the first Swedish act topping the German list since AVICII did so with Hey Brother in November 2013. Of course the DJ had another appaerance at the top a year later as a producer. But Lovers On The Sun was credited only to David Guetta Feat. Sam Martin.
As we talk bout Swedish acts it is worth mentioning the amount of productions involving Swedish people–it is indeed ten. Impressive! And still far away from the 35 productions involving US Americans.

Also #2 is a gainer due to the UEFA EM2016. 80 Millionen already had peaked at #21 so far–chosen by fans the song was kind of a secret anthem for soccer parties and singer Max Giesinger launched a slightly changed version which lyrics fit better to the sportive event. This week the song even jumps 23 ranks in its 12th chart week and gives the 4th of 2012's The Voice of Germany casting his first top hit at all.

The official song of EM broadcasting chosen by ZDF is Wir sind groß recorded by Mark Forster. The song also had a successful chart life before peaking at #9 so far. This week it rises even further and stops at #5. It is Mark Forster's fourth top 5 appearance within less than three years.

The arrival of these two songs inside the top 10 increases the number of German productions up to three which is as much as there were the whole January and the highest amount in 2016 so far. In contradiction the presence of German productions in the complete top 100 is as low as at least one year ago. Only 18 productions involving Germans are count currently. In January 2015 that amount was slightly overdone by a production which was offered by an uncredited German. It was Waves originally recorded by Mr Probz but successfully remixed by Robin Schulz.

To finish the list of soccer related gainers: the Further down also jeder für jeden by Felix Jaehn & Herbert Grönemeyer jumps 44 places to #27.

There are other gainers in the list as well although most of them have a relation to France–the host of the UEFA EM. Jumping 18 places Don't Be So Shy by Imany lands at #13. As the song is mostly sold as remix by Russian DJ duo Filatov & Karas it is also one of the rare Russian hits in Germany. The last real hit (meaning charting more than one single week) from Russia was Welcome To St. Tropez by Timati in 2011.

At #41 Willy William lands. The French singer hit already #1 in Israel with Ego, in Europe he gained Top5 in Belgium and the Netherlands. And at #70 the new single by Martin Solveig Do It Right stands in its third chart week.

Also Adele's new single rises. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) stops at #45 after jumoing 23 places.

After four years of silence culcha candela is back. The Berlin based group offers Wann dann as its come back single which enters the list indeed as highest new entry–at a very low #71. It is the second lowest "Best new entry" of 2016 so far. Only the issue February 19th had a "highest new" lower than this with Es rappelt im Karton by Pixie Paris starting chart life at #83.

April 8th 16: Mark Forster Launches A New Hit

Week no.9 on top for Alan Walker and his Faded. The song is on the way of becoming a real huge superhit as it approaches the result of Aadele's Hello which had an 11 weeks run at the top at the end of past year. As a DJ/producer Alan Walker already is the most successful one since AVICII who spent 10 weeks at #1 with Wake Me Up! in late summer 2013.

A tiny move but a meanful one takes place at #3. SIA Feat. Sean Paul gains one place with Cheap Thrills. It is already the most successful single with SIA as lead artist–now it also eclipses her highest chart performance at all. In September 2012 she appeared at #3 for the very first time as the singer on David Guetta's She Wolf. Sean Paul of course has a #2 hit under his belt already with She Doesn't Mind released in very early 2012.

There is one song new inside the top 10. It is Work From Home by Fifth Harmony Feat. Ty Dolla $ign. The song already hit #2 in the UK–now it really grows in Germany as well. It is the second chart hit for the five ladies. Worth It stopped at #16 almost a year ago.

Finally we do have a highest new entry worth its name. It is this Wir sind gross the new single by Mark Forster. The song lands directly at #13 and it is his fifth top 20 hit–the #1 hit as part of EFF not included. Only twice this year new entries started higher: On February th 5th it was ZAYN with his solo debut Pillow Talkand thre weeks before it were DJ Ötzi and Nik P. who launched their Geboren um dich zu lieben at #11.

A place below Meghan Trainor sets her new hit single . It now overtakes predecessor Marvin Gaye accompanied by Charlie Puth. It is Meghan Trainor's fourth top20 hit within one and a half year.

At #16 the Chainsmokers can launch their very first top20 single in their career. Two years ago they seemed to be kind of a one hit wonder with #Selfie spending 22 weeks inside the survey. In 2016 they have two simultaneous hits with Don't Let Me Down (feat. Daya) jumping 14 places to #16 and Roses (Feat. Rozes) sitting pretty at #27.

Interesting statistics besides: With only nine tracks featuring a European artist inside the top 20 this is the lowest result sinc June 2013.
As there are three songs new inside the top 20 the picture looks quite usual. In fact that three songs disguises a bit the furthermore unchanging survey. All in all there are only five new songs arriving–it's the fourth time in 2016 that such a feat happens. And even if we watch th top 50: only three songs entered the upper half newly. A fact hardly seen in chart history.

All this doesnt mean, there are no movers at all. Viceversa there are some. Here they are:
Jason Derulo with Get Ugly going 55-38
Irish Walking On Cars with Speeding Cars 56–42
DJ Snake Feat. Bipolar Sunshine with Middle 62–52
Max Giesinger with 80 Millionen as the best gainer going 88–53 in its second chart week
Izzy Bizzu with White Tiger 65–54
Ali As Feat. Namika with Lass sie tanzen 86–65 in its second chart run–still six places to go to match the result of its first appearance
Julian Perretta with Miracles going 82–66 in its second week.

Jan 22nd 16: Felix Jaehn's third no.1

The German charts takes up speed. At least at the top side of the list. Again there is a new #1 coming from project EFF which is the acronym for DJ Felix Jaehn and singer Mark Forster. Stimme jumps there from #4 in its 8th chart week and it is the third #1 for Felix Jaehn within a year. Almost exactly one year ago he had his first appearance at the top as the remixer of OMI's Cheerleader. Mark Forster so far had a #2 intermezzo with Au Revoir in 2014.

Shawn Mendes too is rising–Stitches now sits at #2 and serves as the best performing Canadian single since early 2007 when Nelly Furtado dominated the list for six weeks with All Good Things (Come To An End). Of course in between there where two other #1 hits featuring Canadians. In 2009 it was again Nelly Furtado alongside James Morrison and past year we celebrated the young Francesco Yates who gave his voice for Robin Schulz's Sugar

At #10 Lukas Graham penetrate the top 10 with 7 Years. Not counting 's appearance past year this is the first Danish act since 2013 that touches the top 10.

Gainer of the week are:
Sigala that sees follow up Sweet Lovin enter the top 20 in its 8th chart week.
And G-Eazy X Bebe Rexha whose Me Myself & I attracts more and more people giving the single a sales boost plus a 38–17 jump. With only three chart weeks the song is one of only two real new hits that were released in the past four weeks.
Norwegian Alan Parker is on the way of becoming succeeder of KYGO. His single Faded jumps 39 ranks to #30 in its second chart week.

Highest new entry wouldn't be a story this week. Landing at #41 Fast Car by British jonas Blue Featuring Dakota is another tropical house production. The story behind is the (non)success of the original. Recorded by Tracy Chapman in 1988 the single had a short appearance at #81 two years ago only. Now the tune seems catching much more people as it gains attention and success as never before.

Season no.13 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) starts with making re-entries of elder hits. say something originally recorded by A Great big World and Christina Aguilera is chosen very often since it was first released in 2013. Also this year a candidate performed the tune and propels the original back to #70. To mention the name of the man who did it: Erkan Yagci.

Farid Bang's contribution to the German issue of the Creed - Rocky's Legacy soundtrack enters at #95. Creed is Farid Bang's 18th chart entry–none of them even touched the Top20. This result is far the weakest followed by 15 non top20-hits of Wir sind Helden, Iron Maiden and Brings.

6th of June 2014:

Very often straight number 1s appear as an flash in the pan. Big success right after the song is available and than … a quickly decreasing interest in the song. And there are real hits that start straight at the Top. Traum by German rapper CRO is the latter one. The song spends a third week at the Top of Germany’s single charts. The last one doing so was Jason Derulo with Talk Dirty in early autumn 2013.

Rising to no.3 Mark Forster becomes the next successful young German singer songwriter. Au revoir (Featuring Sido) is the highest rank Mark Forster so far achieved. It eclipses the result of Einer dieser Steine from last November on which he accompanied rapper Sido and which stopped at no.4.

In it's 33rd chart week and in its 23rd Top10 week Atemlos duch die Nacht by Helene Fischer rises again two places stopping at number 4. It is the longest Top10 habitation for a song since three years. And it looks like more and more fans purchase the song. The new demand comes due to the final of TV show Let's Dance where Atemlos durch die Nacht was one of the songs for the finalists.

New inside the Top 10 Kiesza is the first Canadian artist since a year who manages to invade the German list that high. Hideaway lands at number 8 and follows Justin Bieber's #That Power.

With a proper album released German DJ/producer Alle Farben gets his first chart hit She Moves - Far Away to Top10 status. The track lands at number 9 in its seventh chart week and is the fifth German production inside the Top10 which is a very rare picture.

The highest new entry comes due to an episode of the show Sing meinen Song. On 27th of May Gregor Meyle was the artist of interest in the production. Sarah Connor's version of his Keine(r) ist wie du has had the most impact on all viewers–the song enters at number 12 and gives the singer her best chart result since 2008. The original also enters the list–no.40 is the second best position for the singer in Germany. In Switzerland the song already is now the best performing song at all. His first ever chart hit and best performing recording in Germany Niemand re-enters at number 65 and collects a seventh chart week.
More show impact can be watched inside the list further down. Xavier Naidoo enters with his version of Du bist das Licht at number 46, the original from 2012 lands at number 70 and the single by Gregor Meyle Hier spricht dein Herz lands at number 54. All toghether the singer has five song inside the current Top100. The album compilation of the show this week enters number 1 inside the albums list.

What else?
German techno and happy hardcore project SCOOTER celebrates its 52nd chart hit under its own name. Bigroom Blitz (Feat. Wiz Khalifa) lands at number 43 which is the highest position in three years. With this chart entry the project has the third biggest amount of hits in the list behind Peter Alexander who had 81 and Madonna with so far 60 hits. Anyway the German act only took 20 years for its result. Its first entry was back in October 1994.

A viral youtube-hit brings The Proclaimers back into the list. Jack Hyer mad his proposal with a video shot in 28 countries and backgrounded with I'm Gonna Be (500 miles). The track originally recorded in 1988 had its first chart appearance in Germany after it was used within the movie Benny & June. It had its highest position at number 40. This week it stands again at number 67.

King soccer shows his more and more what will go on the next weeks. Pitbull Feat, Jennifer Lopez & Cláudia Leitte sit pretty at number 19, Shakira goes 47–29 and finally the first German FIFA WM related song enters in the face of Stefan Raab's Wir kommen, um ihn zu holen at number 82. The song was released midweek so the impact in next weeks time might be bigger. The full CD release follows immediatly.

Hot Spot 11-01-13

And again Germany does have a new Number 1 hit this week. It is Sweden’s new super DJ/producer AVICII who can set a second track at number 1 this current year. Hey Brother is the track in question – still a week before its release on single CD.

Having two No.1 singles is a feat not that usual in Germany – in 2013 we have this situation already for the second time. In June there was Pharrell Williams credited as an artist for two consecutive Nr.1 hits: First he entered the top alongside Daft Punk on Get Lucky. A fortnight later he was also credited on Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.

Two No.1 hits as a main artist – that's a feat we've last seen in 2009 when Lady Gaga had her hiatus with Poker Face collecting 13 weeks at the Top followed by Paparazzi 15 weeks later.

Watching two artists topping the list twice in a year is a feat much harder to find. In 2008 Katy Perry managed a double with I Kissed A Girl in September and Hot N Cold in December and Timbaland topped the list with Apologize (presenting OneRepublic) and was the man behind 4 Minutes performed and credited to Madonna & Justin (Timberlake). In 2003 we had two main acts having two No.1 hits: first superstar Alexander shot to the Top with Take Me Tonight and Free Like The Wind and The Black Eyed Peas launched Where Is The Love? and Shut Up becoming No.1 hits.

More statistics? AVICII only is the sixth act in this current decade with two No.1 hits. - Three weeks in a row with a completely new track at the Top was last seen in October 2009 when RAMMSTEIN (Pussy) was dethroned by David Guetta Feat. Akon (Sexy Bitch) who were dethroned by Lady Gaga (Paparazzi) who left the Top spot for Robbie Williams (Bodies) after a single week.

Finally I can tell you that 2013 is the second consecutive year that two Swedish productions occupy the Top – meaning Swedish music is popular in Germany than never before. Even between 1991 and 1995 when six different Swedish productions went to Number 1 the time span between that hits where much longer than right now. So it is no surprise realizing the fact that according to number 1 hits only music coming from the USA is more successful in Germany right now.

Talking bout AVICII also leads to a note concerning the voice of Wake Me Up!. Aloe Blacc released an own take on the tune that now enters at number 71. Probably that version won't go number 1 – at least it gives the singer his third official chart entry.

There are some other stories too: The most successful German act in this very moment is the duo Milky Chance. After releasing their album Sadnecessary on CD the track Stolen Dance can climb three more places to number 4 becoming the highest ranking German production since three months. The track itself is available as a digital download only.

After the album Unholy Ground by Sunrise Ave is released and gets number 3 in the album list the single Lifesaver also becomes a Top 10 hit by bouncing 22–9 this week. It is the highest position for the band since it went No.3 two and a half years ago with Hollywood Hills. In reminiscence of that big success the song re-enters at number 36 which marks the highest position for it since two years. The initial success for the band Fairytale Gone Bad from 2006 also can re-enter. It lands at number 46 in its 71st chart week which is actually number 19 of most charted acts.

Justin Bieber surely wants to become the most charting act in 2013. Since three weeks he has started releasing every Friday a new song. The tracks also chart in Germany – of course the target group is a very narrow one, so the tracks leave the list very fast. This week the teenie star manages a double entry. His own new song Hold Tight starts at number 56, the collaboration with TYGA Wait For A Minute shows up at number 63. So far Justin Bieber set up seven different tracks in 2013. Only Flo Rida, Pitbull and - yes - Helene Fischer so far brought more into the list. His summary for the whole decade is 17 – making him the fifth busiest act so far.

Upcoming hits:
New York, Rio, Rosenheim - the title track of the album by Sportfreunde Stiller starts to climb up the charts after the band's tour started a few days ago. This week the song not scheduled for a proper single release stops at number 62.

Scheduled for full release on 2nd November Mark Forster's new single Zu dir (Weit weg) enters the list at number 64.

Probably not really a big future hit Dark Horse by Katy Perry Feat. Juicy J enters at number 81 picked as a single track from freshly released album Prism. In the USA the track was the first promotional track offered in September. In Germany one had to wait till now.

Casting show effects
The current season of The Voice Of Germany just started a few weeks ago. Again Hoss Power and Boss Burns of The BossHoss are part of the jury. In time the band released a new album (Flames Of Flames) and a single (Do It). Latter one sneaks around number 35 for some weeks meanwhile the band's signature song Don't Gimme That returns into the list at number 76.

Max Herre does similar. His biggest hit Wolke 7 returns at number 88.

Also Das Supertalent bans people in front of their TV's. The fourth show aired on 20th October supports songs of Helene Fischer (#74) and Philipp Poisel (#83 + #97).

22-12: KONTOR sound starts the summer

What a week: 14 new entries – that’s what we've had only once this current year. Now that feat comes with a lot of new releases especially from the dance floor section. Let’s call it the industries effort for starting the summer business. Let's have a look what's going on.

The number one is still occupied by Die Toten Hosen. It is the second week vor Tage wie diese (Days Like These). The biggest impact comes from US rapper Flo Rida who sees his Whistle flying to number 2 a week before the full CD is released. (Further down the list he enters the charts for second time this week as featured artist.)

The first real story (real in the meaning of explicit Germany connected) can be found at number 9. The past two issues of the charts there was a strong influence of soccer detectable. And also this week presents its soccer hit. The sales span covered by the current list starts 18th of May and ends on 24th. On 19th there was the final of the UEFA cup confronting FC Bayern München with FC Chelsea. The match was highly anticipated in German media. The music used during breaks was I Follow Rivers recorded by Swedish Lykke Li. The singer is kind of an independent star in Germany for about three years. The end of 2011 she had commercial success in Belgium, the Netherlands and France storming the Top of the charts with I Follow Rivers. Now the time has come for a bigger attention in Germany too. The single can enter the German list inside the Top 10. Probably she will pass the honour of being the most successful Swedish act next week to fresh Eurovision winner Loreen.

The hymn of Bayern München also makes a big leap inside the list and lands at number 46 although the team succumb on the penalty.

New sound coming from KONTOR starts this week. The label at this moment is the most successful dance label in Germany accounting for the big success of that style. It freshly released the compilation House Of House Vol. 15 including a whole bunch of new digital releases. Most commercially successful is German project r.i.o.. It offers the hit Party Shaker which lands inside the Top 10 by collecting everything one know from past summer hits. The rap part now comes from NICCO who so far only collaborated with Austrian Darius & Finlay. Party Shaker is the second Top 10 hit for r.i.o. after last years Turn This Club Around.

2010 was the year of Die Atzen. Three simultanous hits selling weeks and weeks. In 2011 it was a strange collaboration with NENA that kept the memories to Frauenarzt & Manny Marc alive, This year the Atzen duo releases the third album with its own style–it can make on the album list a number 16. The single taken from that collection calls Party (Ich will abgehn). I guess there is no change to the sound two years ago. Probably that’s the reason why it only can enter at number 45.

Also Swiss REMADY offers a new production. Single Ladies features known Zurich singer Manu-L and Swedish rapper J-Son. The new track starts as single download at number 50 which marks a new peak of REMADY.

Last one of the KONTOR sound: RJ Flo Rida & Qwote also can enter the charts as the only non European act of the label this week.

If you're interested in other sounds than European dancefloor you should test single number two off the album auch by die ärzte (The Doctors). It calls m+f. The letters stand for male and female and the song describes the most common rituals of how the sexes come together … a funny story at all. The single starts its chart life right after the first one left the list.

Significant rises
American Linkin Park finally has a full CD version of Burn It Down in the shelves. The track peaks in its fifth chart week at number 16 eclipsing the download only peak of four weeks ago.
Pitbull launches with Dance Again a third simultanous hit inside the Top 20. Back In Time still rises up to number 5 this week meanwhile There She Goes by Taio Cruz slightly slides to number 8. The new collaboration with JLO can enter the list at number 19. Pitbull now is the artist having most tracks inside the Top 100 in 2012–the books count 10. Last year he had nine tracks as lead or featured artist plus two tracks where he wasn’t listed but performed.
Supported by the use as background sound for a commercial Santigold can celebrate her first chart hit in Germany. Disparate Youth starts at number 26.

After full CD release in Germany Forever by Danish MEDINA takes a 89–38 leap. So far it is the third best rank MEDINA could reach in her two years long career.
One might think that tunes once very successful die in peace and never come back. This isn’t true at all as very well known Infinity shows these days. A big hit in 1990 by Guru Josh it came back in a reworked version four years ago. That version spend another 64 weeks inside the charts peaking at number 4. Now the tune was chosen as the background for MAGNUM icecream (at least in German speaking countries) including the release of new remixes by acts like DJ Antoine vs. Mad Mark, Robby Rivera, Loverush and PunX. The new mixes immediatly start inside the chart at number 48.

New German sounds
Irish Rea Garvey can be count as a German act due to the fact he lives in Germany and is very active on German TV. In autumn last year he was part of the jury for The Voice of Germany. Now he offers a new solo single with Heart Of An Enemy. It can’t continue the success of Can’t Stand The Silence and Colour Me In.

Die Hölle morgen früh (The hell tomorrow morning) by Helene Fischer finally is available on CD. As most of the fans of her are rather conservative the release causes a re-entry of the song with a new peak. Although rank 72 looks shabby at the first sight it is for the first time that Helene Fischer can launch two single hits from an album inside the sales charts. So probably this is the point where the singer turns into a maker of single hits.

More Schlager can be found new at number 96. It is Franziska who returns after three and a half years back into the sales charts. Meanwhile she released an album which also reached the charts. Heute weiß ich erst, dass ich dich liebe (Not Until Today I Know That I Love You) is her third singles chart hit and also the worst performing so far.

A German newcomer is Mark Forster. As far as the story is told he makes music as background musician for several years. Now he offers his first solo material and it needs only a little to make him the new Tim Bendzko. Auf dem Weg (On The Way) is a story about making things in life one doesn’t really want. But it is not only about lost chances, it is more about being conscious of that situation and enjoying it.

And finally back to party. Party is the topic for the VIVA’s serial Party, Bruder!. The title track comes from US based Breathe Carolina. Blackout could be a European production at all. By this it is quite strange that the track needed a full year to arrive on these shores. Blame on their label SONY that hadn’t enough balls releasing the single earlier.
