A new Number 1 offered by a new trio: MARTERIA • YASHA • MISS PLATNUM are the new stars starting with their new single Lila Wolken (Violet Clouds) right at the Top. It is the third single in 2012 starting chart life at the highest position. And it is the third Number 1 coming from a German act. After the superstar and the DJ remix it is the probably most important style that finally can gain the Top spot: German HipHop reaches it’s commercial zenit.
Having the third German production at number one means we really have German music back to it’s success. In 2011 there was only one act from Germany topping the weekly charts – probably the bottom of the “crisis” of German music. The last heydays from the early 2000s when at least five track each year topped the list seems still far and away. All in all we watch five German productions inside the Top 10 which is quite an impressive fact. In the whole Top 100 there are 31 tracks produced by German acts. I really do not know when we had such a situation the last time.
Back to the song starting at number 1: Lila Wolken is a soft hymn for free night life. It tells about the search for having the choise and the luck seeing the morning sky. It lifts Marteria and Miss Platnum with their third chart hit to number 1. For the latter on it took almost exactly five years getting here. – A second track from the EP of the trio can enter the charts on single downloads. It is Feuer which reaches position 52.
The next new entry comes due to a performance at new season of Das Supertalent. Jean-Michel Aweh performed Wie soll ein Mensch das ertragen originally recorded by Philipp Poisel–right after the show the two years old song shoots to number 5 reaching a new peak. It is the second song of Philipp Poisel reaching the Top 5 after being performed in a casting show. And it is his third Top 5 hit in 2012 making him the most successful German act this year. Rapper CRO only had two Top 5 hits this year so far.
Supported by the new demand also the latest single Wolke 7 alongside Max Herre jumps back up the list and lands at number 9. In the same manner (but slightly more dimmed) Eiserner Steg rises 67–46 in its 40th chart week and Ich will nur comes back for a short appearance at number 97. So we see four tracks of Philipp Poisel inside the recent list.
Also the other song performed by the candidate Jean-Michel re-enters the charts. It is Revolverheld’s Halt dich an mir fest recorded with Marta Jandová of Die Happy. The song was a long time seller in 2011. Now it comes back at number 60.
And yet another Top 10 story: Carly Rae Jepsen spends a twentieth week inside the Top 10 and is so far the longest Top 10 runner of the year. Hard on the heels follows I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li which so far collected 18 weeks.
A late summer tune comiong from Austria is gaining more attention. Klangkarussell is a Salzburg based duo. Its track Sonnentanz was released a year ago. It found some first lovers in spring this year and reached broader popularity during the summer. Now a single is full released on CD which gives the track a last boost climbing into the Top 20 in its sixth chart week. In Austria and Switzerland the track also can reach Top 20 status. It is the first Top 20 hit comiong from Austria since two years.
German dance music much more plays the easy and direct way. The Michael Mind Project Feat. Dante Thomas does not experiment a lot. Nothing Lasts Forever sounds like all the last offers of the project. The audience still can deal it–the new single starts at number 40. It is the 12th single so far for Michael Mind–none of them reached ever the Top 10.
The first white/northern soul act from Germany is Leslie Clio. The singer lives in Hamburg and right now released her debut Told You So. The song starts at number 41 but it might have the power of spending some more weeks inside the list.
Silbermond has announced a new single. Immediately the hard core of fans is buying the track in question Ja as an album cut which makes it entering the charts at number 70. Compared to the last single of Silbermond it is quite doubtful seeing the new one rising much further after the release of the single in late October.
Back with new material after a seven years break Joachim Witt has released the single Gloria. A dark song about our complicated life.
Number 1 on the DVD charts is French movie The Intouchables. The main title Una Mattina reaches the song charts though not in its original version played by Ludovico Einaudi. Instead a version played by Swedish Jonas Kvarnström is listed at number 77.

Die Toten Hosen right now repeat the result of their so far greatest hit Zehn kleine Jägermeister as current hit single Tage wie diese stays for a fourth week right at the Top of Germany’s singles charts. Used by public TV ARD as the main anthem for the EURO2012 the track is heavily supported by media use. So does number 2 which comes right now from Linkin Park. Burn It Down is used by ZDF for the same reason and now is the highest ranking track of Linkin Park of all times. They reached three times number 4 so far. In 2004, in 2007 and in 2009–now the history of the band is re-written.
The current list is covering the time span 15th to 21st of June. In this time the hopes for a German championship seemed realistic. Finale wir kommen (Final we’re coming) by KAY ONE Featuring Shindy tells about that dream. It climbs 54–29. Last Thursday these hopes were smashed by the team from Italy. Probably the KAY ONE song will tumble down in two weeks time dramatically.
Rising also is the Ukrainian band Los Colorados. Its take on I Like To Move It is the second official ZDF-track for EURO2012 promotion. It now reaches the upper half of the list at number 44.

So far he is known as the voice of the rap part on recordings by Mike Candys. So far he collected two Top 20 hits within the past 9 months. Now he starts his own solo single Dancing in London. It is a dance infected tune also but falls short of the two predecessors.
The man who made Patrick Miller popular can’t make it that big. His newest offeringSunshine (Fly So High) is even outsold by predecessor 2012. It lands at number 64 so far.
The highest new entry coming from a German act is Feeling So Blue by the Michael Mind Project. It is build around the Eiffel 65 hit from 1999. Landing at number 38 in its first chart week it is the first time since four years that the Michael Mind Project can reach the upper half of the charts again. Singer Dante Thomas seems after a long long break really back in the business. It is already his second chart appearance in 2012.
What else? – Amy Macdonald’s album Life In A Beautiful Day shot to number 1 last week. This issue she has to move to number 2. Instead her single Slow It Down rises again and lands at number 39–which is a new peak for the song after seven weeks in the list.
Steadily rising is Belgian Triggerfinger’s unplugged version of I Follow Rivers. This week the song can stop at number 40. The original by Lykke Li also finds some more fans and rises 10–8 this current week, which also marks a new peak for the song.

Now a further song from his last album gains attention. It is the last track on the album Bis nach Toulouse and it’s called Ich will nur (I Only Want To).It is a very reduced love ballad. As I found out the song isn’t released or scheduled for a proper single release. Instead of that there is a new album announced for August which will be probably partly live. Maybe it is the pre-flurry that let people purchase Ich will nur as a live version on their mp3 players. Number 43 is an impressive start.
Rising also is Reckoning Song / One Day the remix of Asaf Avidans song by Wankelmut. It is new inside the upper half at number 49.
Two years ago Menowin Fröhlich seemed to be one of the big stars of the future. Than he failed in winning the superstar casting contest only becoming the runner up. Last year he released his first single with more or less success. But the interest in the almost superstar fades away dramatically. Now his first album is announced. And almost nobody cares. The single that should tease the album lands at a low number 60. It is called Round ‘N’ Round.
I am actually wondering how often one can release the same sounding song. Marquess already does it with ¡Bienvenido! for the ninth time. Well –the success of the releases so far isdecreasing too. Number 61 for the summer single 2012.
And also Schlager old star Jürgen Drews comes with a new single. Für einen Tag (For One Day) is the newest offering landing at number 62.

It’s Faithless that sees its Insomnia again landing at number 79. It is the 55th chart week for the song so far and the 12th time that it re-enters the list.
And finally the song noted for the most times inside the German sales charts Sky And Sand by Paul & Fritz Kalkbrenner this issue leaves the list. Last week it was noted at number 96 in its 115th chart week–now it is really out. Now the song with most chart weeks is Rolling In The Deep by Adele which sits at number 94 in its 77th week.

Once again Rihanna serves the top single of the week. We Found Love holds the third week there – it is now the second longest stand for a Rihanna-track at the top. The crown of being the most durable Nr.1 goes to Umbrella that had a five weeks run at the top in June 2007.
I was talking 'bout fading German releases last week. This week everything changes rapidly by the latest single releases from Udo Lindenberg’s and culcha candela. Let's start with veteran singer who is very successful with his MTV unplugged – Live aus dem Hotel Atlantic album. The song in question – Cello – was originally released in 1973 with the album Alles klar auf der Andrea Doria (Everything's going right at Andrea Doria). Although it became the most popular song of the album besides the title track it was never released as a single. Now it enters the list at number 4 giving Udo Lindenberg the highest chart place ever as a solo artist. So far Sonderzug nach Pankow (Special Train Service To Pankow – Pankow is a quarter within the eastern part of Berlin) from 1983 – a cover version of Chattanooga Choo Choo with political cold war lyrics – held that crown by reaching number 5. Only once Udo Lindenberg saw himself higher in the singles’ ranking. It was in 1985 when the benefit projekt Band für Afrika he was joining climbed to number 3 in Germany.
Naming Udo Lindenberg as one of the most famous German artists today refers almost only to his album releases. The new version of Cello is only the third single that can reach Top 10 status. That's quite strange due to the fact that a lot of his songs (including Cello) are enormously popular.
Duetting partner at Cello is singer Clueso. His biggest hits so far were Keinen Zentimeter (Not A Single Centimeter) in 2008 and Gewinner (Winner) in 2009 that reached number 15 and 21. The collaboration with the senior star gives the young man from Erfurt his first ever Top 10 hit and probably a chance to reach a bigger audience. The album list already saw Clueso twice close to the top. As an effect of his performance side by side with Udo Lindenberg one of his very first singles is back in the list. chicago from 2006 appears for a week at position 100.
14 places behind Lindenberg/clueso another German act enters the list. culcha candela promotes its fifth studio album named Flätrate (you already guessed what it means) by releasing the single Hungry Eyes. It is another song about the female vamp searching for helpless men. Strange phantasies the boys hanging on … so far the mainstream audience is attracted by sound and story …
Let's mention here the third best sold German song of the week. It is a known one hanging around the upper ranks for several weeks. This recent issue Glasperlenspiel with ECHT drops 14–19.
There is a high new entry in Germany with prospects of climbing much further and becoming a huge hit. Swedish producer/DJ Tim Bergling/AVICII launches his hit Levels even before it is offically released in Germany. The big download portals like amazon list Levels as available from 20th November on. The actual list dated 18th November covers sales between 4th and 10th November. This list shows the track as new entry at position 6. I guess it clearly underlines amazon's role at the dance market. I find it quite worthful watching how sales develope after 20th November.

The vocals come from Bobby Anthony & Rozette – both absolutely unknown to German audience. Let’s wait two more weeks when physical single sales also count. Than we can decide whether this track is a hit or just a medium dance production.
Fans of Oktoberfest hits might not be depressed – next carnival season knocks at the door with approaching 11th November. A few days before that date Cologne band HÖHNER released a new single. 6 bis 8 Stunden Schlaf (6 to 8 hours sleep) is exactly that – a carnival anthem to lazy times. Probably it will disappear after two or three weeks and re-appear later in February, than for sure with much more power.

Das sind sie also, die Weihnachtscharts 2008 und alles ist ruhig. Keine fette Überraschung unterm Tannenbaum, sondern weiterhin Katy Perry mit "Hot N Cold", die das Fest alles andere als beschaulich verstreichen lässt. Vier Wochen steht Katy Perry mit "Hot N Cold" nun an der Spitze und erhöht ihre Gesamtbilanz 2008 auf nunmehr 9 Wochen an der Spitze. Das ist das beste Ergebnis des Jahres vor Schnuffel und Kid Rock, die es jeweils auf 8 Wochen ganz oben bringen.
Für Max Martin, der bei "Hot N Cold" als Co-Autor und als Musiker auftaucht, erhöht die aktuelle Platzierung das Ergebnis 2008 auf 12 Wochen an der Spitze. Das ist das beste Ergebnis des Jahres überhaupt.
Platz 2 und 3 stehen ebenfalls fest auf den Positionen der Vorwoche: Polarkreis 18 halten mit "Allein Allein" den Silberplatz und P!nk bleibt mit ihrer neuen Single "Sober" auf dem bronzenen.
Bewegung unter den oberen 10 gibt es mit der Rückkehr der Killers und „Human“ auf ihren bisherigen Bestwert, Platz 4, nachdem sie für eine Woche außerhalb der besten 5 Pause einlegten. Auf die 6 steigt von der 15 noch einmal Herbert Grönemeyer mit „Glück“. Auch Curse mit Silbermond steigen mit „Bis zum Schluss“ noch einmal drei Plätze auf Position 8.
Einen Aufsteiger wieder hinein in die Top 20 gibt es mit den Pussycat Dolls und „I Hate This Part“, welches von der 22 ganze 10 Plätze bis auf die 12 klettert. Offensichtlich hat sich nun auch das deutsche Publikum ordentlich an den Titel gewöhnt und verhelfen den Dolls nach einem etwas verhaltenen Start doch noch zu ordentlichen Platzierungen.
Der höchste Neuzugang ist alles andere als weihnachtlich. Metallica gehen mit "All Nightmare Long" direkt in die oberen 20, und zwar auf Position 15. „All Nightmare Long“ wird unter anderem von musicline.de als DER Metallica-Titel schlechthin betitelt, sozusagen ein Querschnitt durch all ihre Entwicklungsphasen mit prägnanten Hörproben ihres unverwechselbaren Sounds in wenigen Minuten. Ob dieses Qualitätsmerkmal für die hohe Platzierung verantwortlich ist? Immerhin ist es die höchste Platzierung seit Juli 2003 als „St. Anger“ in der Liste notiert war. Oder vielleicht war es auch profanerweise der Marketing-Trick „All Nightmare Long“ in einer sogenannten Collector’s Edition in die Läden zu bringen. Drei CDs auf denen neben dem Titeltrack jeweils zwei Live-Versionen vom September 2008 bzw. umfangreiches Video-Material enthalten ist. Gezählt wird der Verkauf aller drei Versionen zusammen und es ist gut vorstellbar, dass der eine oder andere Fan sich diese kleine Sammlung noch unter den Weihnachtsbaum legen wollte. Wie auch immer: „All Nightmare Long“ ist seit Februar 2004 endlich neues Material der Band in den Charts. Zur Veröffentlichung von „Death Magnetic“ standen im September lediglich „Nothing Else Matters“ (Platz 45) und „Whiskey In The Jar“ (Platz 98) für ein paar Wochen in der Single-Liste. Für Produzent Rick Rubin ist „All Nightmare Long“ ein schöner Einstand mit Metallica. Er war zuletzt mit Linkin Park erfolgreich. Seine Produktion „Leave Out All The Rest“ steht derzeit auf der 56 und mit „What I’ve Done“ schaffte es das Gespann im Frühsommer 2007 bis auf Platz 4.
Platz 18 erobert sich Leona Lewis mit ihrer vierten Single „Run“. Ursprünglich war dieser Titel nur für die Deluxe-Edition ihres Erfolgsalbums „Spirit“ vorgesehen. In Großbritannien reichte dann die Veröffentlichung als digitale Single, um Leona Lewis einen vorweihnachtlichen Nr.1-Hit zu bescheren. Hier in Deutschland erscheint der Track sogar richtig auf CD, aber die Euphorie um die X-Factor-Gewinnerin von 2006 scheint ihren Zenit bereits überschritten zu haben. Zumindest mit den Chartplatzierungen geht es beständig bergab. Nach ihrer Nr.1 „Bleeding Love“ konnte „Better In Time“ im Juni noch die 2 belegen. „Forgive Me“ startete dann im November nur noch auf der 15 (nach 7 Wochen jetzt von 54 auf 57 fallend) und „Run“ beginnt nun noch einmal ein paar Plätze tiefer. Alles in allem ist es aber der vierte Top 20 Hit in Folge innerhalb eines Jahres. Keine schlechte Leistung.
Ebenfalls mit dem vierten Hit im Jahr 2008, allerdings nicht ganz so erfolgreich, steht auch Jamba-Hase Schnuffel mit „Schnuffels Weihnachtslied“ auf der 23 neu in den Charts. Auch hier hat sich der Kuschelfaktor schon ordentlich abgenutzt. Nach dem „Kuschel Song“ schaffte es nur noch das Duett mit Michael Wendler kurz in die Top 20. Das Weihnachtsliedchen könnte es für ganz kurz noch zu etwas Ruhm bringen, denn erst in der kommenden Woche werden die Verkäufe der Weihnachtswoche berücksichtigt. Und da haben ja die saisonalen Hits nochmal richtig Konjunktur bevor sie innerhalb von wenigen Tagen wieder für elf Monate verschwinden.
Einen bemerkenswerter Absturz gibt es in dieser Woche zu bemerken: Von der Position 8, wo es letzte Woche neu startete, geht es nun auf die 30 mit Rosenstolz und „Wie weit ist vorbei“. Radiostationen setzen lieber auf Altbekanntes und so wage ich zu bezweifeln, dass „Roll On“ es tatsächlich noch zu wesentlich mehr bringen wird.
Neu auf der 70 die dritte Single von MGMT „Kids“. Es ist ihre beste Chartplatzierung bisher und das liegt wahrscheinlich auch daran, dass „Kids“ Teil des Soundtracks zum Computerspiel Fifa 09 ist.
Auf der 71 steigt Doro mit „Herzblut“ ein. Nachdem sie im November mit „Celebrate – The Night Of The Warlock“ bereits bis auf die 75 gekommen war, schafft sie es mit Single Nr.2 im Jahr 2008 sogar noch etwas höher und damit auf ihre bisher zweitbeste Singlechart-Platzierung. Für den 30. Januar ist das Album „Fear No Evil“ angekündigt.

Wieder drin sind auf der 97 The Disco Boys feat. Manfred Mann’s Earth Band mit dem Partyknaller „For You“. Mittlerweile in der 45. Woche notiert und wahrscheinlich auf den kommenden Silvester- und Neujahrsparty überall zu hören.
Und auf der 100 schnuppert noch einmal kurz rein Anastacia mit “I Can Feel You“. 6 Wochen und eine Höchstplatzierung auf der 25 Ende Oktober stehen für sie bereits in den Büchern.

Für Max Martin, der bei "Hot N Cold" als Co-Autor und als Musiker auftaucht, erhöht die aktuelle Platzierung das Ergebnis 2008 auf 12 Wochen an der Spitze. Das ist das beste Ergebnis des Jahres überhaupt.
Platz 2 und 3 stehen ebenfalls fest auf den Positionen der Vorwoche: Polarkreis 18 halten mit "Allein Allein" den Silberplatz und P!nk bleibt mit ihrer neuen Single "Sober" auf dem bronzenen.
Bewegung unter den oberen 10 gibt es mit der Rückkehr der Killers und „Human“ auf ihren bisherigen Bestwert, Platz 4, nachdem sie für eine Woche außerhalb der besten 5 Pause einlegten. Einen Aufsteiger wieder hinein in die Top 20 gibt es mit den Pussycat Dolls und „I Hate This Part“, welches von der 22 ganze 10 Plätze bis auf die 12 klettert. Offensichtlich hat sich nun auch das deutsche Publikum ordentlich an den Titel gewöhnt und verhelfen den Dolls nach einem etwas verhaltenen Start doch noch zu ordentlichen Platzierungen.
Der höchste Neuzugang ist alles andere als weihnachtlich. Metallica gehen mit "All Nightmare Long" direkt in die oberen 20, und zwar auf Position 15. „All Nightmare Long“ wird unter anderem von musicline.de als DER Metallica-Titel schlechthin betitelt, sozusagen ein Querschnitt durch all ihre Entwicklungsphasen mit prägnanten Hörproben ihres unverwechselbaren Sounds in wenigen Minuten. Ob dieses Qualitätsmerkmal für die hohe Platzierung verantwortlich ist? Immerhin ist es die höchste Platzierung seit Juli 2003 als „St. Anger“ in der Liste notiert war. Oder vielleicht war es auch profanerweise der Marketing-Trick „All Nightmare Long“ in einer sogenannten Collector’s Edition in die Läden zu bringen. Drei CDs auf denen neben dem Titeltrack jeweils zwei Live-Versionen vom September 2008 bzw. umfangreiches Video-Material enthalten ist. Gezählt wird der Verkauf aller drei Versionen zusammen und es ist gut vorstellbar, dass der eine oder andere Fan sich diese kleine Sammlung noch unter den Weihnachtsbaum legen wollte. Wie auch immer: „All Nightmare Long“ ist seit Februar 2004 endlich neues Material der Band in den Charts. Zur Veröffentlichung von „Death Magnetic“ standen im September lediglich „Nothing Else Matters“ (Platz 45) und „Whiskey In The Jar“ (Platz 98) für ein paar Wochen in der Single-Liste. Für Produzent Rick Rubin ist „All Nightmare Long“ ein schöner Einstand mit Metallica. Er war zuletzt mit Linkin Park erfolgreich. Seine Produktion „Leave Out All The Rest“ steht derzeit auf der 56 und mit „What I’ve Done“ schaffte es das Gespann im Frühsommer 2007 bis auf Platz 4.
Platz 18 erobert sich Leona Lewis mit ihrer vierten Single „Run“. Ursprünglich war dieser Titel nur für die Deluxe-Edition ihres Erfolgsalbums „Spirit“ vorgesehen. In Großbritannien reichte dann die Veröffentlichung als digitale Single, um Leona Lewis einen vorweihnachtlichen Nr.1-Hit zu bescheren. Hier in Deutschland erscheint der Track sogar richtig auf CD, aber die Euphorie um die X-Factor-Gewinnerin von 2006 scheint ihren Zenit bereits überschritten zu haben. Zumindest mit den Chartplatzierungen geht es beständig bergab. Nach ihrer Nr.1 „Bleeding Love“ konnte „Better In Time“ im Juni noch die 2 belegen. „Forgive Me“ startete dann im November nur noch auf der 15 (nach 7 Wochen jetzt von 54 auf 57 fallend) und „Run“ beginnt nun noch einmal ein paar Plätze tiefer. Alles in allem ist es aber der vierte Top 20 Hit in Folge innerhalb eines Jahres. Keine schlechte Leistung.
Ebenfalls mit dem vierten Hit im Jahr 2008, allerdings nicht ganz so erfolgreich, steht auch Jamba-Hase Schnuffel mit „Schnuffels Weihnachtslied“ auf der 23 neu in den Charts.
