July 15th 16: Calm Top 10

IMANY (remixed by Filatov & Karas) defends her #1 position with Don't Be So Shy for a second week. It looks like this one will be the summer hit 2016.

Follow ups are still This Girl by KUnGS vs. Cooking On 3 Burners and This One's For You by David Guetta feat. Zara Larsson. It is calm on top of the German charts.

On the rise still Please Tell Rosie. The song by alle farben feat. YOUNOTUS reaches now #4 in its 13th chart week.

As Cheap Thrills returns 12–9 inside the top 10 SIA & Sean Paul serve with the longest running top10 hit. With 16 weeks it falls only one short off Faded by Alan Walker.

The biggest mover close to the top is new single by Alan Walker. Sing Me To Sleep goes 34–18 falling one place short of above mentioned predecessor Faded.

July 8th 16: 30th #1 From France - Third One In A Row!

There is a new #1 in Germany. Again it is one by a French artist–the 30th since the beginning of the German charts in 1954. And the third in 2016 alone. One must add: The third in a row. Did we see such a feat before? No. Never at all three acts from France managed to occupy the top spot each after another. Additionally the full top 3 is presented by French acts. In 2016 it is a given thing that all of them are acompanied by another act–all of them not French.

After all that statistics it is time to be clear: New #1 is Don't Be So Shy by Imany. As she is of Komorian decent Don't Be So Shy also is the second #1 in 2016 presenting a musical connection to Africa.
More visibly the men behind the remix of the track bring back to #1 status a nation that was absent here for more than 13 years: Russia. Filatov & Karas are the suceeder of t.A.T.u. who topped the list in February 2003 with All The Things She Said.

The only new song inside the top10 is Ain't Your Mama by Jennifer Lopez. It is only her ninth top10 song and the first since spring 2014 when she hit #6 alongside Pitbull on We Are One.

With Cheap Thrills dropping off the top 10 the longest running top 10 song now is One Dance by Drake Feat. Wizkid & Kyla. The song has collected so far 12 top10 weeks and now sits pretty at #9.

Inside the top20 we also welcome a new song. Holland is the second top20 by the 257ers. Their first appaerance was back in September 2014 with Baby du riechst.

Gainers of the week are:
Wherever I Go by OneRepublic touching the upper half at #41 for the first time since their hit Love Runs Out in summer 2014.
Kill Em With Kindness by Selena Gomez rising 61–45 in its 3rd chart week.
Lang lebe der Tod by CASPER feat. Blixa Bargeld, Dagobert, Sizarr taking the biggest leap of 24 places to #59 in its second chart week. Dagobert is only the second Swiss act entering the German charts in 2016.
Perfect Strangers by Jonas Blue featuring JP. Cooper rising 11 places to #66 although already had its peak at #55 five weeks ago.
Me Too by Meghan Trainor going 93–77 in its fourth chart week. So far it is the worst performing single by her.

Once again it is a very disappointing week for new releases. The highest new single lands at #79 in the shape of the new Coldplay release Up&Up. This year we already had a lower start for the best new entry of the week in February. Anyway Up&Up belongs to the ten lowest entries of all times carrying the crown as "highest new entry".

All in all there are only two really new songs entering the top 100 plaus three songs returning into the list. It is again a turnover of only 5% – which happens a fifth time this year. In 2015 we only had two weeks doing so
