Oct 30th 15: Adele is back

After weeks of almost no movement at all between the top places it is this week a complete change. Due to Adele's latest offering–the album announcing Hello–there is the fourth straight #1 in 2015 and an almost forgotten sound back at the very top. Almost exactly three years after Skyfall hit the top in Germany the singer is back with a third #1 song and is now the fifth act doing so in this current decade.

The straight rise to #1 also ends a 12 weeks presence of German productions at the top. A feat last seen in 2007 when Mark Medlock & Dieter Bohlen, Monrose, Azad Feat. Adel Tawil and Culcha Candela passed the #1 crown to each other for exactly 12 consecutive weeks.

Not only #1 turns out completely new. Also #3 features a straight new entry in the like of Justin Bieber who features his upcoming album with a second single called Sorry. The song was produced by Skrillex as predecessor What Do You Mean was. But the new song sets a new peak for the Canadian teenie star as it lands as high as no other song of Bieber before. It is only the fourth top10 song for him.
Meanwhile predecessor What Do You Mean? returns to the top10 spending a sixth week inside it. Which also means that three tracks recorded by Canadians invades the top10 this current week.

The biggest gainers this week are:
Bedingungslos by Sarah Connor that goes 62–30
Hotline Bling by Drake 53–28
Melodie by CRO 69–44
and
Catch & Release by Matt Simons 80-61
Same Old Love by Selena Gomez 79–62
Never Forget You by Zara Larsson & MNEK 88–69

Oct 23rd 15:

Astronaut by Sido Feat. Andreas Bourani spends a seventh week at the top and is now the second longest nr.1 in 2015. Only Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) by Felix Jaehn Feat. Jasmine Thompson so far performed better with eight consecutive weeks at the very top.

LOUANE rises two further places to #4 with Avenir. It is only the second top5 hit with a French act involved in 2015. So far only DJ Snake had an appearance accompanied by Major Lazer on the #4 hit Lean On. The last pure French production inside the top5 was seen exactly a year ago with #1 hit Fade Out Lines by The Avener. The last top 5 hit in French belongs to Belgian stromae and his #1 alors on danse from spring 2010.

OMI sees his second hit Hula Hoop entering the top20. Again the success for the singer is heavily supported by various remixes of his song. #13 is where the track stops right now.

Oct 16th 15: Michael Jackson Back in Top 5

Indeed Sido Feat. Andreas Bourani hold firm for another week at the top with Astronaut. It is the sixth week at all and it seems that the duo will soon do something that was not seen for a long time. Actually Astronaut right now is the best performing song in German since early 2008 when stupid character Schnuffel had an eight week run at #1 with Kuschel Song.

At runners up position Glasperlenspiel lands. Geiles Leben now is far and away the most successful single of the band.
At #5 another rising song stops. Sigala's Easy Love also has prospects for reaching the heights of Astronaut in next weeks time. For now it brings King of Pop Michael Jackson a first top5 appearance since 1997. Back than it was Blood On The Dancefloor that stopped exactly at #5.

New inside the top10 French LOUANE is. Her Avenir stops at #6 in its 11th chart week at all.

A next top 20 hit for Swedish AVICII stops at #18 in the face of For A Better Day. It is already the seventh chart week for the song.
SDP Feat. Adel Tawil have their song Ich will nur dass du weißt already 11 weeks on the survey. This week the single goes for the first time inside the top 20 too and sits at #19.
Also Ellie Goulding manages it going top20 with On My Mind. She only took four chart weeks.

On the way up
The best gainers are Lunchmoney Lewis with a 66–45 leap for Whip It in its fourth chart week and Zara Larsson with Lush Life that goes 71–50.
Further significant moves come from KYGO Feat. Ella Henderson 52–47 with Here For You sixth chart week.
Jess Glynne 56–48 Don't Be So Hard On Yourself seventh week.
Sarah Connor 77–67 Bedingungslos second week.
CRO 93–73 Melodie third chart week
Shawn Mendes 86–74 Stitches second week

Once again the highest new entry comes in on a very low position. Ausländer by rapper MERT starts chart life at #63.

Oct 9th 15: Still No Change

Another week missing hot new releases while repeating the stories of last weeks time. SIDO Feat. Andreas Bourani find their Astronaut occupying the nr.1 slot for a fifth week. It is the first song in German for three years that manages that feat. In 2012 it was Tage wie diese by Die Toten Hosen that collected five #1 weeks in two runs.

Right now it is the 10th consecutive week with a German production at the top which increases the total number of weeks in 2015 to 22–meaning half of so far past 2015 had a #1 coming from Germany.

A lack of really new releases does not mean there ain't no changes at all. At #8 Sigala arrives inside the top10 with his former #1 hit from Britain Easy Love. It brings King of Pop Michael Jackson back to top10 area after more or less five years which is his 21st appearance there (or his 22nd if you count his part on the USA for Africa project in 1984 too).

Second new song inside the top 10 is a track too. It is Felix Jaehn's third chart entry Book Of Love and his first own composition. The voice of the song comes from Russian Polina (Goudieva). By landing at #10 she is only the third Russian act that achieves the top 10 in Germany after t.A.T.u. and Timati. The latter one had his big time in summer 2011.

As we talk continously about European music inside the chart this week we watch an issue with the lowest presence of Europeans inside the top 20. "Only" 14 tracks with European artists are listed–as you all know two years ago there were weeks with only five European tracks...

No new songs mean old hits still selling well. So we watch Atemlos durch die Nacht spending a 100th consecutive week inside the list. The song by Helene Fischer sits pretty at #72 rising three places.

The first new entry comes in at #77. It is upcoming single by Sarah Connor Bedingungslos. It is the week with lowest rank for best new track in 2015 at all and compared to all lists ever made it belongs to the ten weakest issues.

Further down a single starts late as it becomes more and more a modern classic by several cover versions. Speaking 'bout Hotline Bling originally recorded by Drake. It enters the list at #92 after Disclosure & Sam Smith, Eryka Baduh and Charlie Puth released their takes on youtube, soundcloud and the likes.
Talking 'bout Canadian acts just this current week there are nine inside the list. That's a very strong presence not seen in Germany before.

Oct 2nd 15: Slow Approaching of New Autumn Hits

Well, Sido Feat. Andreas Bourani spend a fourth week at the very top with Astronaut. And it is this what one might call a late summer hit–or is it already the sound of the autumn?
Astronaut is the first song collectin four #1 weeks since so far hit of the year 2015 Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) by Felix Jaehn Feat. Jasmine Thompson occupied the top spot for eight week in May/June. And it is the first #1 hit in German that does so since past year's Traum coming from CRO.

The one and only new arrival inside the top 10 comes–once again–from a German project. It is Glasperlenspiel with its latest offering Geiles Leben that climbs 13–5 in its sixth chart week giving the duo its highest peak so far.

A 15 places jump is the biggest gain of the week taken by French Louane who lands inside the top 20 with her France #1 hit Avenir. It is the highest hit in French since stromae's Papaoutai which stopped at #6 in October 2013.
Also on the way of becoming a hit Sigala is. Easy Love rises 10 places stopping at #17. In his homecountry the DJ already is a #1 star.

The new James Bond song Writing's On The Wall is the highest new entry this current week at #22. Sam Smith gains chart success although the official release is only scheduled for October 23rd. The demand also propels his last appearance back to the list. As featured artist he is mentioned for Omen by Disclosure which returns at a new peak at #74 after it shortly dipped into the hot100 in early August.

For announcing their upcoming album We Are The Generation British Rudimental had dropped single Lay It All On Me (Featuring Ed Sheerany). The song enters at #80 so far. Guess there are still things to come.
