Hot Spot 10-04-13
Jason Derulo Feat. 2 Chainz still occupy the number 1 slot. Seems that Talk Dirty really is much more than a short runner but stands in contrast with the weak performance of the album. That one called Tattoos only can make number 25 in Germany which is the highest rank a Derulo album ever reached. Well – the man is much more a hit single's artist. - Just to underline this fact Fire enters the list as an album cut at number 91. Duetting partner Pitbull hereby becomes the act with most charting songs of the current decade. With 26 official tracks plus two uncredited he now has overtaken French DJ David Guetta who so far launched 25 singles under his name from 2010 on.
Olly Murs' Single Dear Darlin' climbs in its 11th week to number 2 which gives the British star his second single in 2013 that can reach at the runners up position. Once he had a number 1 hit. It was back in April 2012 when Heart Skips A Beat managed it to be the most sold track for two weeks.

Sido goes 8–5 with In meinem Kopf which gives him a Top 5 hit for the third time in his career.
On Tour in Germany, Number 1 in Austria – CRO makes a 14–8 leap with Einmal um die Welt and reaches a new peak with this song. It is already the 24th chart week which makes the song the slowest climber since Ma Chérie reached its peak at number 6 in May last year.
Linkin Park’s Castle Of Glass still two weeks ahead the full release on CD enters the Top 10 – it is the fourth Top 10 hit of the band and follows the number 2 song Burn It Down which re-enters at number 93.
This week we do have 12 new entries and 11 re-entries – meaning it is the biggest turnover of that young year so far. So the charts get back to the speed they had at the end of 2012.
The most present artist of 2012 is starting the new year: Pitbull delivers the highest new entry with Feel This Moment at number 12. It is his 21st charting track in this decade and the 25th at all. His partner on the song Christina Aguilera also counts 25 chart hits with this entry and now spends 15 consecutive years inside the German charts. The single itself will be available on CD from February 22nd on.
With the success of Ellie Goulding’s Lights the label scheduled a re-release of the single CD for February 15th. This week the song rises 26–19 and probably this track will become her first Top 10 hit on German shores.
Also worth mentioning Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz reach the Top 20 with Thrift Shop. The song still isn’t signed to a label and sells directly from the artist’s platform. That’s unbelievable and probably shows what will happen in a few years within the whole music business.
Finally Nicki Minaj’s Va Va Voom catches fire and reaches the upper half of the list.
After her performance on Wetten dass… Leona Lewis is back in the list with her last hit Trouble. So far it spent only five weeks inside the list. That’s poor for a star like Leona Lewis is.

The Swedish House Mafia becomes a Top 10 act with their last single Don’t You Worry Child and full 17 weeks in the list. (It is the second Top 10 hit for member Steve Angello whose production of Taio Cruz’s Troublemaker was Nr.6 in 2011.)
Otto Knows enters the Top 20 with Million voices.
All in all there are three Swedish acts inside the Top 20.

DSDS the next season
In the second show on 9th January Tim David performed I Won't Let You Go by James Morrison. The original song reaches the Top 50.
The show on 12th January presented Wincent Weiß – obviously a hot candidate for the win. He performed Halt dich an mir fest which brings the original by Revolverheld back in the charts. It is already the 48th week for the track which makes it the most successful single of the German band.
January 12th German schlager star Andrea Berg celebrated her 20th show anniversary on TV. More than 6 million people watched the show. Most succesfull guest of the show: Andreas Gabalier. His I sing a Liad für di bounces back up the charts to number 49 in it's 47th chart week.
She herself sees her hit Du hast mich tausendmal belogen entering the list for the very first time. It is only her third single gaining a place in the survey.
Third winner of British X-Factor enters the list in Germany: James Arthur.
Four years after its release Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs can enter the list in Germany. It is the very first track of the band inside the German charts.
Dschungelcamp Effect
Having Silva Gonzalez in the Dschungelcamp is the (probably last) chance for his project Hot Banditoz of having a last hit. Get Down On The Floor enters at number 76. It is the first charting track since September 2007. Their biggest success was back in 2003 the single Veo Veo, climbing to number 3.
More successfully the title track Troublemaker by Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida climbs to number 3. And at the very lower end Sex On Fire again clings on in the list as it is used as a main theme for candidate Olivia Jones. By the way Sex On Fire now charts for the 14th time – it is one of the most loved songs in casting shows and always can make it into the charts after a performance. I would call it a classic tune.
Another act absent from the charts for a long time but very successful with concerts and tours is Max Raabe. Due to the release of his album Für Frauen ist das kein Problem the title track finally can enter the list at the lower quarter. It is nothing more than his second chart hit on the singles list. The predecessor charted back in 2006.
Back after a 19 years absence Scottish band The Proclaimers see its I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) re-entering the list. The song was used in TV serials as How I Met Your Mother and in the movie The Angels' Share which made it very popular the last months again.
Johannes Oerding from Hamburg released his album Für immer ab jetzt on 11th January. The track Nichts geht mehr is the favourite of the cherry picking audience and enters number 82 after a performance at girlfriend Nina Müller's show. – His second single Einfach nur weg from last November also appears for a single week in the charts again.
Funny statistics at the end: German CRO after a year inside the charts reaches the Top 20 of most charted artists in this decade. He now has 138 weeks under his belt. – The number one since 1.1.2000 is David Guetta with 546 weeks (+ a few more where he acted as silent producer in the background). Best German act so far is culcha candela collecting 241 weeks – which is rank number 9.

Now it is the most successful song by Die Toten Hosen. Tage wie diese holds a fifth week firm at the Top of the German singles charts. Counting 14 weeks inside the Top 10 the song needs eight more weeks to eclipse the result of the second best performing song so far Zehn kleine Jägermeister.
Holding a fifth week at the top position Die Toten Hosen are the first German act doing so since Lena’s Satellite had a continous five weeks run at the top in spring 2010. After winning the Eurovision song contest in May that year she stormed back to number 1 adding a sixth week to her account.
The story of the week is connected with number 2 act Linkin Park. Their album Living Things storms to number 1 in the very first week on sale. It probably supports the figures for current single Burn It Down and also lifts the opener song Lost In The Echo into the list as an album cut. The song is scheduled for being the next single in Britain end of June. In Germany the label did not report a release as a single. By entering the list at number 68 it is far and away the most loved song of the album.
Also song number 2 on the album In My Remains can made it in the singles list as an standalone track. It is listed at number 83 and Germany is the one and only country where that tracks gains that much attention. It is mentioned only in the UK rock charts also–ranking at number 10.

As one of the few people who did not like the original I find the new version much straighter. Nathalie Horler does have a soulfree voice which completely fits to that synthetic dance sound. Number 35 in the release week makes the track one of the very medium cascada hits.

Landing at number 38 in its first chart week it is the first time since four years that the Michael Mind Project can reach the upper half of the charts again. Singer Dante Thomas seems after a long long break really back in the business. It is already his second chart appearance in 2012.
What else? – Amy Macdonald’s album Life In A Beautiful Day shot to number 1 last week. This issue she has to move to number 2. Instead her single Slow It Down rises again and lands at number 39–which is a new peak for the song after seven weeks in the list.
Steadily rising is Belgian Triggerfinger’s unplugged version of I Follow Rivers. This week the song can stop at number 40. The original by Lykke Li also finds some more fans and rises 10–8 this current week, which also marks a new peak for the song.

Now a further song from his last album gains attention. It is the last track on the album Bis nach Toulouse and it’s called Ich will nur (I Only Want To).It is a very reduced love ballad. As I found out the song isn’t released or scheduled for a proper single release. Instead of that there is a new album announced for August which will be probably partly live. Maybe it is the pre-flurry that let people purchase Ich will nur as a live version on their mp3 players. Number 43 is an impressive start.
Rising also is Reckoning Song / One Day the remix of Asaf Avidans song by Wankelmut. It is new inside the upper half at number 49.

The single that should tease the album lands at a low number 60. It is called Round ‘N’ Round.

24-12: Speed Up The Charts For The Soccer EM
A second week for Eurovision winner Loreen at Number 1 position and an almost completely static Top 10 – that’s the situation this week. But we do have 16 new entries inside the Top 100 which means the summer turnover started two weeks ago continues lower down the list. By the way: It is the week with most new entries in 2012 and 2011 at all. The last time we had 16 or more new entries is exactly two years ago. That's impressive. Could it mean that a very slow chart phase comes to an end? A reason could be the renewed chart rules ... read about it further down this text.
Let’s start our litlle flight through interesting moves and entries at the Top: The only one significant mover in the upper regions is Burn It Down by Linkin Park which jumps after full release as CD single and launch of a video 20–10. After nearly 3 years the band is back inside the German Top 10. More and more Austria and Germany establish as the market where the band is most succesfull worldwide.
The effect of having a video available is seen twice in this current list. Also Coldplay & Rihanna take a leap with Princess Of Cgina after the video is online (and on TV) since 4th of June. In its sixth chart week the single reaches the upper half for the very first time.
An European summer hit starts at number 11 as the highest new entry in the list this week. Tacatà by Italian TACABRO already is Top 10 in Denmark, France, Switzerland, Finland and Belgium. Now it starts in Germany also.
One of the big fire makers in the list is approaching EURO 2012. With the start of the event also the official anthem of this year’s championship Endless Summer by German singer Oceana catches fire. The single jumps 38–13 in its fourth chart week. In Poland the track already holds number 1. It is more than possible that we see the song climbing to the top in Germany as well in a few days. The matches are highly anticipated from the beginning of the tournament.
Public TV channel ZDF had chose another song for surrounding its reports and matches broadcasting meanwhile. Ukrainian band Los Colorados became popular by covering famous pop songs in polka style. For advertising the EM the band (or the chanel) took the song I Like To Move It by Reel 2 Real from the year 1994. It is the fifth time for the song that a version can reach the charts. Last time we heard it one year ago when Markus Becker offered his German cover which had a one week run on the survey. I guess the new version will have a slightly longer life.
And also the national football association DFB is offering an own fan song for the EM. It is Für nichts auf dieser Welt (For Nothing On This World) by Roger Cicero which can right after release on CD enter the list. So far Mr. Cicero only had once a really hit in the singles list. It was his Eurovision attempt in 2007 Frauen regiern die Welt that reached number 7.

In 2001 the project reached number 5 with its hit Adriano. The new single is about planning a new beginning, a change of life–but tomorrow. So it is probably both: optimistic and tragic.
Ole ohne Kohle (Ole without bucks) is the next newcomer. He is known as actor of the soap Berlin Tag und Nacht (Berlin Night And Day). His first single Ich bin kein Model und kein Superstar (I’m not a model or a superstar) is a typical Mallorca sound denying the celebrated life style on casting TV shows.

His folk song Reckoning Song was remixed by a Berlin DJ called Wankelmut. The remix became very popular on soundcloud under the name One Day. Finally we should add a category called Casting stars updated. Do you remember Popstars season 2008? No. Of course not. Well–winner were four ladies who were put together in a girl group called Queensberry. Already the first single No Smoke / I Can’t Stop Feeling failed dramatically. In 2009 the girls had two Top 10 hits followed by a lot of trouble inside the group. Two ladies left, two new came in, the deal with the label UNIVERSAL was cancelled at the end of last years and earlier this year Selina Herrero left the band … now they are three and start a new chapter. Chapter 3 as their album is called. The first single Timeless is in shelves now. It can reach the German sales charts. That’s good news. It lands at number 90. That’s deflating for some ex-popstars. The song itself sounds very plastic and non-emotional. Probably chapter 3 is over soon.
A movie is causing a further chart entry in Germany. With the screening of Snow White & The Huntsman in German theatres also the title track can enter the sales charts. Florence + the Machin were inspired by the movie’s characters and recorded Breath Of Life. Although the movie was successful in English speaking countries as well the song couldn’t chart there at all.
From June the 1st on there is a change in the way the German charts are compiled. Now all songs available digitally or on CD are automatically eligible for the list. Before June tracks had to be registered for becoming chart eligible. The full rules are here.

Last year Eurovision stars JEDWARD were everywhere the most sold act in download shops for a full week–but did not appear on the “official” sales charts by media control due to the fact that the label UNIVERSAL did not register their song Lipstick for being chart eligible.
The first artist/track that benefits from the change is German rap superstar CRO. His song Hi Kids already is a hit on platforms like youtube for months. It did not appear in the list cause t was not ment to be a single. Now the track enters the list as it is automatically chart eligible at number 72. Considering the time the track is already available and that it was given for free in autumn last year this rank must be seen as a very high new entry.
Second beneficiary of the new chart rules are KiD CuDi Feat. MGMT & Ratatat with their track Pursuit Of Happiness which is available as a download track since April this year. The track became popular mostly due to a remix version by Steve Aoki. As different versions and remixes are summed up to a single rank in the charts position 85 reflects both the sales of the original and the remix.

Well–winner were four ladies who were put together in a girl group called Queensberry. Already the first single No Smoke / I Can’t Stop Feeling failed dramatically. In 2009 the girls had two Top 10 hits followed by a lot of trouble inside the group. Two ladies left, two new came in, the deal with the label UNIVERSAL was cancelled at the end of last years and earlier this year Selina Herrero left the band … now they are three and start a new chapter. Chapter 3 as their album is called. The first single Timeless is in shelves now. It can reach the German sales charts. That’s good news. It lands at number 90. That’s deflating for some ex-popstars. The song itself sounds very plastic and non-emotional. Probably chapter 3 is over soon.
A movie is causing a further chart entry in Germany. With the screening of Snow White & The Huntsman in German theatres also the title track can enter the sales charts. Florence + the Machin were inspired by the movie’s characters and recorded Breath Of Life. Although the movie was successful in English speaking countries as well the song couldn’t chart there at all.
From June the 1st on there is a change in the way the German charts are compiled. Now all songs available digitally or on CD are automatically eligible for the list. Before June tracks had to be registered for becoming chart eligible. The full rules are here.
This tiny policy already had influence on the charts. Last year Eurovision stars JEDWARD were everywhere the most sold act in download shops for a full week–but did not appear on the “official” sales charts by media control due to the fact that the label UNIVERSAL did not register their song Lipstick for being chart eligible.
The first artist/track that benefits from the change is German rap superstar CRO. His song Hi Kids already is a hit on platforms like youtube for months. It did not appear in the list cause t was not ment to be a single. Now the track enters the list as it is automatically chart eligible at number 72. Considering the time the track is already available and that it was given for free in autumn last year this rank must be seen as a very high new entry.
Second beneficiary of the new chart rules are KiD CuDi Feat. MGMT & Ratatat with their track Pursuit Of Happiness which is available as a download track since April this year. The track became popular mostly due to a remix version by Steve Aoki. As different versions and remixes are summed up to a single rank in the charts position 85 reflects both the sales of the original and the remix.
Somehow also Swedish AVICII might thank the new policy. His track Silhouettes finally can make it into the list. But the full promotion in Germany did not yet start. Let’s wait till the full video is released officially.
TV rules und dann noch paar Kleinigkeiten
TV rules – und der Quotenführer in der Woche 6. bis 12. November war Thomas Gottschalk mit seiner Samstagabend-Großfamilien-Show ”Wetten dass…?”. Live auf der Bühne begrüßte er The Black Eyed Peas, die ihren Hit I Gotta Feeling zum Besten gaben . Und so passierts, dass der Titel, der eigentlich in seiner 20. Woche schon langsam auf dem Abstiegspfad wandelte noch einmal ordentlich im Verkauf zulegen kann und von der 14 auf die 7 klettert. Ganze sieben Plätze nach oben und dann gleich in Höhen, wie sie zuletzt Anfang Oktober erreicht hatten. Die beste Platzierung stammt mit Platz 3 übrigens schon von Ende Juli des Jahres.
I Gotta Feeling gehört zweifellos zu den internationalen Hits des Jahres (jaja – es geht langsam los mit den Jahresauswertungen), Nr.1 in nahezu allen Ländern dieser Welt (außer in Frankreich und Deutschland) schaffte es in den USA den Rekord von 14 Wochen an der Spitze, in der Alltime-Auswertung die zweitbeste Performance eines Spitzentitels. Poker Face ist für 2009 momentan der Titel, der die zweitmeisten ununterbrochenen Wochen in den Charts stand. Auf Position 1 steht momentan noch Haus am See von Peter Fox, das es 2009 auf 43 Wochen brachte. Rein rechnerisch kann Lady Gaga diese Anzahl in diesem Jahr auch noch zusammenbringen. Es bleibt also spannend bis zur letzten Woche des Jahres.

November in Berlin den MTV Europe Music Award in der Kategorie ”Best World Stage Live Performance”. Und dann erschien vier Tage später der Film Transformers – Die Rache auf DVD und Blu Ray-Disc … und die Titelmusik zu diesem Film ist, wir erinnern uns, New Divide, der letzte Streich von Linkin Park. Erstmals war der Titel am 3. Juli in den deutschen Charts notiert, damals gleich auf Position 4 und damit das Ergebnis von Numb/Encore und What I’ve Done egalisierend. Ganze 19 Wochen war New Divide ununterbrochen in den Verkaufscharts gelistet, letzte Woche erstmals nicht mehr vertreten. Mit den oben beschriebenen Ereignissen gehts nun aber doch noch einmal ordentlich nach oben und New Divide steht wieder in der oberen Hälfte der Charts, auf Platz 39. Neun weitere Chartwochen sind damit garantiert.
Ebenfalls mit MTV-Hilfe schaffen es Green Day nochmal zu punkten. Sie traten bei der Verleihung der Awards nicht nur live auf, sondern holten sich gleich noch die Trophäe als ”Bester Rock Act”. In der Kategorie ”Beste Gruppe” reichte es leider nicht ganz. Dort mussten sie sich Tokio Hotel geschlagen geben. Macht aber nichts, denn 21 Guns, ihre zweite Comeback-Single, klettert in der 16. Chartwoche noch einmal von der 54 auf die 50. Die höchste Platzierung stammt vom 7. August, als 21 Guns auf Platz 13 der deutschen Charts einstieg.
Nochmal richtig hoch nachdem ihr Titel bei ”Popstars” von Elif, Manu und Valentia, Sandra interpretiert wurde,geht es für La Roux. Bulletproof ist nunmehr in der 13. Woche dabei (seit Ende August), hat sich auch schon bis zum Platz 13 emporgehangelt, und kann jetzt noch einmal sieben Plätze gut machen: von der 27 geht es auf die 20. Danke Popstars!
Im Aufwärtstrend – ohne nachvollziehbare Mega-Auftritte im TV – befinden sich im Moment Culcha Candela. Ihr aktueller Hit Monsta schlingert seit drei Wochen an der Top 20-Grenze herum: eingestiegen auf der 18 ging es in der letzten Woche auf die 21 und nun wieder etwas hoch auf die 19. Gerade waren sie auch bei den popstars in New York zu Gast, da dürfen wir in den kommenden Wochen also durchaus noch etwas mehr Nachfrage erwarten. Und wahrscheinlich punktet dann auch Schöne neue Welt nochmal, in dieser Woche gehts auch schon mal nach oben von der 52 auf die 50, in der 13. notierten Woche.
Das waren die älteren Titel, die sich nochmal ordentlich ins Bewusstsein zurückbefördern konnten. Und dann gab es noch ein paar komplett neue CD-Veröffentlichungen. Zum Beispiel von den Sugababes. Diese haben mit Get Sexy bereits seit Anfang Oktober ganz gut Promotion, denn sie sind auch auf dem Soundtrack zur deutschen Komödie ”Männerherzen” vertreten. Als CD erschien der Titel in Deutschland dennoch erst einen Monat später. Und der Titel kann schon jetzt als historisch bezeichnet werden, denn Get Sexy ist die letzte Veröffentlichung mit Keisha Buchanan. Sie verließ als letztes Gründungsmitglied das Trio im September und an ihrer Stelle agiert nun Eurovisions-Teilnehmerin Jade Ewen. Wenn wir also die Sugababes aus dem Jahr 2000 mit den Sugababes des Jahres 2009 vergleichen, dann gibt es da mittlerweile gar keine Gemeinsamkeiten mehr. Auch musikalisch hat sich eine ganze Menge getan. Get Sexy ist ein ziemliches Gemisch aus den wichtigsten Hitzutaten des letzten Sommers. Da piept es ordentlich wie bei Pitbull, die Elektro-Chords erinnern sehr an David Guetta und der Refrain … nun, der ist wohl schon etwas älter, denn Right Said Fred behaupteten bereits 1992 ”I’m Too Sexy For This Club”.
Get Sexy ist die 18. Single der Sugababes, die sich in Deutschland platzieren kann. Platz 41 als Vorabsingle zu einem neuen Album ist dabei allerdings ziemlich mager. Überhaupt stammt der letzte Titel der Sugababes, der nicht über Platz 40 hinaus kam aus dem Jahr 2004. So gesehen scheint eine Auffrischung der Sugababes durchaus Not. Oder ist es vielleicht doch der mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz so frische und unverwechselbare Sound? In ihrer Heimat Großbritannien sind die Sugababes noch ganz gut im Rennen. Get Sexy setzte sich bis auf Platz 2 durch und gerade startete dort die neue Single About A Girl auf Position 8.
Neu in den CD-Regalen ist auch Lenka mit Trouble Is A Friend. Es ist die zweite Auskopplung aus dem Album Lenka und für mich ist der Titel wesentlich eingängiger und lauschiger als ihre Debütsingle The Show. Diese konnte sich über den Sommer ganze 15 Wochen lang in den Charts platzieren mit Höchstposition 23, das ist schon mal eine ordentliche Leistung. Trouble Is A Friend sollte eigentlich mindestens das gleich schaffen, aber da gibt es doch ein paar Probleme mit der CD. Auf amazon zum Beispiel ist der Titel lediglich als mp3 erhältlich. Das auch schon eine ganze Weile, als Albumtrack ohnehin, als e-Single dann seit Anfang September. Ein paar physische Cds müssen es aber irgendwie doch in die Welt geschafft haben, denn Trouble Is A Friend steht in dieser Woche neu auf Platz 65.
Ebenfalls ihre zweite Single stellt CLARA vor. Ihr Debüt gab sie vor gerade mal sechs Wochen, als Guilty Pleasure, der Siegertitel des Internetcastings YoumeU.com, für eine Woche lang in den Charts stand. Nach diesem mehr oder weniger dämlichen Starttitel hatte ich vermutet, dass CLARA wohl ihre 5 Minuten Ruhm gehabt hat, aber jetzt legt sie doch noch mal ordentlich nach. Nicht nur im tempo der Veröffentlichungen, sondern auch musikalisch. Until the end (wirklich so fehlerhaft mit Kleinbuchstaben auf der CD-Hülle) ist zwar immer noch lange nicht der Überflieger, aber im Vergleich zu Guilty Pleasure liegen da schon Welten. Was generell fehlt ist so ein wenig Selbstbewusstsein und vor allem Eigenheit. Im Moment klingt CLARA eigentlich so ein wenig wie eine weichgespülte Variante von Rihanna … Und die Geschichte mit ihrer gestorbenen Oma, naja – das ist natürlich alles ganz herzig, aber eigentlich reicht das noch nicht um den Titel wirklich unverkennbar zu machen. Trotzdem: Until the end kann im Vergleich schon ordentlich zulegen und rangiert in der ersten Woche auf Platz 66. Wenn das so weitergeht, dann braucht sie noch 6 Singles bis zum Nr.1-Hit …
Ganz neu und ein absolut unbeschriebenes Blatt ist Saint Lu. So viel ist rauszukriegen, die Sängerin kommt aus Österreich und lebt mittlerweile in Berlin. 2003 versuchte sie ihr Glück bei der Casting-Show ”Starmania” – ohne Erfolg. nachträglich betrachtet kann man nur sagen: zum Glück. Denn wenn man ihre erste Single Don’t Miss Your Own Life hört, dann klingt das sehr schön uneingeschränkt, ein bisschen rau und rotzig, ein bisschen oldschool mit Gitarren, nicht tot produziert. Eigentlich ziemlich genau das Gegenteil von dem was Castingsshows meist so fabrizieren. Und dieser kraftvolle Titel kann doch ein paar Menschen überzeugen: Platz 80 in der ersten Woche.
Nach fast dreijähriger Pause ist eine weitere Dame zurück: Norah Jones. Ihr aktuelles Album The Fall erschien am 13. November – also genau nach dem Auswertungszeitraum für die vorliegenden Charts. Bereits im Vorfeld konnte sich die Single Chasing Pirates als Einzeltrack ganz gut verkaufen. Präsentiert in der Oliver Pocher Show gelingt Norah Jones so ein Neueinstieg obwohl der Titel gar nicht als e-Single bei amazon gelistet wurde. Da waren iTunes und Kollegen wohl etwas besser drauf. Und vermutlich wird Platz 87 auch nur der Ausgangspunkt sein für bessere Platzierungen. Mir zumindest gefällt Chasing Pirates ganz gut. Und das will was heißen, bisher fand ich Norah Jones ja vor allem wegen ihrer niedlich-verträumten Gedankentiefe eher anstrengend nervend. Ihren kommerziell erfolgreichsten Titel hatte sie im Jahr 2004 mit Sunrise. Dieses kam immerhin bis Platz 54.
Auch aus der Dance-Abteilung gab es zum 6. November ein paar Neuveröffentlichungen. Das Nebenprojekt von Yann Peifer und Manuel Reuter (bekannt durch Cascada) r.i.o. legt einen vierten Charthit vor. Serenade ist gewohnte Kost und vermutlich genau deshalb mit Platz 97 der am wenigsten erfolgreiche Charttitel des Projektes. Auch diesen Track gibt es lediglich als e-Single.
Richtig auf CD erschienen ist der nächste Streich von Mark ’Oh. Nachdem seine Version von United im August sogar bis zum Platz 48 aufsteigen konnte, ist der DJ offensichtlich wieder zurück. Auch sein neuer Titel ist eine Cover-Version und wieder arbeitet Mark ’Oh fleißig am anstehenden 90er Jahre Revival. Warum seine Wahl auf Scatman von Scatman John gefallen ist – ich habe überhaupt keine Ahnung. Eigentlich ist dieser Titel aus dem Jahr 1994 einer der in die Kategorie ”Bitte nicht mehr spielen!” gehört. 1995 erreichte Scatman Platz 2 in den deutschen Charts. Spaßigerweise war es unter anderem Mark ’Oh mit Tears Don’t Lie, der dem Scatman einen Nr.1-Hit verwehrte.
Die neue Version von Scatman ist für meine Begriffe nicht mal schlecht geraten. Wenn Mark ’Oh will, dann kann er eben doch. Da finde ich selbst die Samples aus dem Original nicht mehr so nervig. Leider gibt es aber für diese Version erstmal nur Platz 100.
Und ganz am Ende der Liste gibt es wie immer ein paar mehr oder weniger lustige Rückkehrer. Das sind Anna-Maria Zimmermann mit 1000 Träume weit (Torneró) auf der 88 – wieder dabei nach einer Woche Pause in der insgesamt siebten Chartwoche.
Nach acht Monaten Chartabstinenz kehrt Duffy mit ihrem Hit Mercy zurück in die Charts. Schuld ist in diesem Fall die 9-jährige Carlotta Charly Trumann, die genau diesen Titel in der Supertalent-Show sang. Das geht ans Herz und bringt Duffy eine 41. Woche in der Liste.
Zum Jahrestag des Mauerfall schafft es natürlich auch Westernhagen mit seiner Ode Freiheit noch einmal zurück auf die Playlisten. Erst im Januar diesen Jahres stand der Titel anlässlich des Best of-Albums von Westernhagen nochmal für drei Wochen in den Charts. Bis Platz 79 ging es da. Zum deutschen Jubiläum reicht es für Platz 90 in der 27. Woche.
Vor zwei Wochen erstmals dabei, letzte Woche draußen, jetzt wieder auf Platz 91 in der Liste ist Axel Fischer mit Du trägst keine Liebe in dir. Kein weiterer Kommentar dazu.
Mit dem neuen Album The Circle, das in der letzten Woche auf Platz 1 der Albumcharts startete, sind auch ältere Titel von Bon Jovi gefragt. Allen voran sein größter Hit aus dem Jahr 2000 It’s My Life. In dieser Woche reicht es für diesen Titel sogar zu einer Platzierung innerhalb der umsatzstärksten 100 Titel. Und der Titel kann schon jetzt als historisch bezeichnet werden, denn Get Sexy ist die letzte Veröffentlichung mit Keisha Buchanan. Sie verließ als letztes Gründungsmitglied das Trio im September und an ihrer Stelle agiert nun Eurovisions-Teilnehmerin Jade Ewen. Wenn wir also die Sugababes aus dem Jahr 2000 mit den Sugababes des Jahres 2009 vergleichen, dann gibt es da mittlerweile gar keine Gemeinsamkeiten mehr. Auch musikalisch hat sich eine ganze Menge getan. Get Sexy ist ein ziemliches Gemisch aus den wichtigsten Hitzutaten des letzten Sommers. Da piept es ordentlich wie bei Pitbull, die Elektro-Chords erinnern sehr an David Guetta und der Refrain … nun, der ist wohl schon etwas älter, denn Right Said Fred behaupteten bereits 1992 ”I’m Too Sexy For This Club”.
Get Sexy ist die 18. Single der Sugababes, die sich in Deutschland platzieren kann. Platz 41 als Vorabsingle zu einem neuen Album ist dabei allerdings ziemlich mager. Überhaupt stammt der letzte Titel der Sugababes, der nicht über Platz 40 hinaus kam aus dem Jahr 2004. So gesehen scheint eine Auffrischung der Sugababes durchaus Not. Oder ist es vielleicht doch der mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz so frische und unverwechselbare Sound? In ihrer Heimat Großbritannien sind die Sugababes noch ganz gut im Rennen. Get Sexy setzte sich bis auf Platz 2 durch und gerade startete dort die neue Single About A Girl auf Position 8.
Neu in den CD-Regalen ist auch Lenka mit Trouble Is A Friend. Es ist die zweite Auskopplung aus dem Album Lenka und für mich ist der Titel wesentlich eingängiger und lauschiger als ihre Debütsingle The Show. Diese konnte sich über den Sommer ganze 15 Wochen lang in den Charts platzieren mit Höchstposition 23, das ist schon mal eine ordentliche Leistung. Trouble Is A Friend sollte eigentlich mindestens das gleich schaffen, aber da gibt es doch ein paar Probleme mit der CD. Auf amazon zum Beispiel ist der Titel lediglich als mp3 erhältlich. Das auch schon eine ganze Weile, als Albumtrack ohnehin, als e-Single dann seit Anfang September. Ein paar physische Cds müssen es aber irgendwie doch in die Welt geschafft haben, denn Trouble Is A Friend steht in dieser Woche neu auf Platz 65.
Ebenfalls ihre zweite Single stellt CLARA vor. Ihr Debüt gab sie vor gerade mal sechs Wochen, als Guilty Pleasure, der Siegertitel des Internetcastings YoumeU.com, für eine Woche lang in den Charts stand. Nach diesem mehr oder weniger dämlichen Starttitel hatte ich vermutet, dass CLARA wohl ihre 5 Minuten Ruhm gehabt hat, aber jetzt legt sie doch noch mal ordentlich nach. Nicht nur im tempo der Veröffentlichungen, sondern auch musikalisch. Until the end (wirklich so fehlerhaft mit Kleinbuchstaben auf der CD-Hülle) ist zwar immer noch lange nicht der Überflieger, aber im Vergleich zu Guilty Pleasure liegen da schon Welten. Was generell fehlt ist so ein wenig Selbstbewusstsein und vor allem Eigenheit. Im Moment klingt CLARA eigentlich so ein wenig wie eine weichgespülte Variante von Rihanna … Und die Geschichte mit ihrer gestorbenen Oma, naja – das ist natürlich alles ganz herzig, aber eigentlich reicht das noch nicht um den Titel wirklich unverkennbar zu machen. Trotzdem: Until the end kann im Vergleich schon ordentlich zulegen und rangiert in der ersten Woche auf Platz 66. Wenn das so weitergeht, dann braucht sie noch 6 Singles bis zum Nr.1-Hit …
Ganz neu und ein absolut unbeschriebenes Blatt ist Saint Lu. So viel ist rauszukriegen, die Sängerin kommt aus Österreich und lebt mittlerweile in Berlin. 2003 versuchte sie ihr Glück bei der Casting-Show ”Starmania” – ohne Erfolg. nachträglich betrachtet kann man nur sagen: zum Glück. Denn wenn man ihre erste Single Don’t Miss Your Own Life hört, dann klingt das sehr schön uneingeschränkt, ein bisschen rau und rotzig, ein bisschen oldschool mit Gitarren, nicht tot produziert. Eigentlich ziemlich genau das Gegenteil von dem was Castingsshows meist so fabrizieren. Und dieser kraftvolle Titel kann doch ein paar Menschen überzeugen: Platz 80 in der ersten Woche.
Nach fast dreijähriger Pause ist eine weitere Dame zurück: Norah Jones. Ihr aktuelles Album The Fall erschien am 13. November – also genau nach dem Auswertungszeitraum für die vorliegenden Charts. Bereits im Vorfeld konnte sich die Single Chasing Pirates als Einzeltrack ganz gut verkaufen. Präsentiert in der Oliver Pocher Show gelingt Norah Jones so ein Neueinstieg obwohl der Titel gar nicht als e-Single bei amazon gelistet wurde. Da waren iTunes und Kollegen wohl etwas besser drauf. Und vermutlich wird Platz 87 auch nur der Ausgangspunkt sein für bessere Platzierungen. Mir zumindest gefällt Chasing Pirates ganz gut. Und das will was heißen, bisher fand ich Norah Jones ja vor allem wegen ihrer niedlich-verträumten Gedankentiefe eher anstrengend nervend. Ihren kommerziell erfolgreichsten Titel hatte sie im Jahr 2004 mit Sunrise. Dieses kam immerhin bis Platz 54.
Auch aus der Dance-Abteilung gab es zum 6. November ein paar Neuveröffentlichungen. Das Nebenprojekt von Yann Peifer und Manuel Reuter (bekannt durch Cascada) r.i.o. legt einen vierten Charthit vor. Serenade ist gewohnte Kost und vermutlich genau deshalb mit Platz 97 der am wenigsten erfolgreiche Charttitel des Projektes. Auch diesen Track gibt es lediglich als e-Single.
Richtig auf CD erschienen ist der nächste Streich von Mark ’Oh. Nachdem seine Version von United im August sogar bis zum Platz 48 aufsteigen konnte, ist der DJ offensichtlich wieder zurück. Auch sein neuer Titel ist eine Cover-Version und wieder arbeitet Mark ’Oh fleißig am anstehenden 90er Jahre Revival. Warum seine Wahl auf Scatman von Scatman John gefallen ist – ich habe überhaupt keine Ahnung. Eigentlich ist dieser Titel aus dem Jahr 1994 einer der in die Kategorie ”Bitte nicht mehr spielen!” gehört. 1995 erreichte Scatman Platz 2 in den deutschen Charts. Spaßigerweise war es unter anderem Mark ’Oh mit Tears Don’t Lie, der dem Scatman einen Nr.1-Hit verwehrte.
Die neue Version von Scatman ist für meine Begriffe nicht mal schlecht geraten. Wenn Mark ’Oh will, dann kann er eben doch. Da finde ich selbst die Samples aus dem Original nicht mehr so nervig. Leider gibt es aber für diese Version erstmal nur Platz 100.
Und ganz am Ende der Liste gibt es wie immer ein paar mehr oder weniger lustige Rückkehrer. Das sind Anna-Maria Zimmermann mit 1000 Träume weit (Torneró) auf der 88 – wieder dabei nach einer Woche Pause in der insgesamt siebten Chartwoche.
Nach acht Monaten Chartabstinenz kehrt Duffy mit ihrem Hit Mercy zurück in die Charts. Schuld ist in diesem Fall die 9-jährige Carlotta Charly Trumann, die genau diesen Titel in der Supertalent-Show sang. Das geht ans Herz und bringt Duffy eine 41. Woche in der Liste.
Zum Jahrestag des Mauerfall schafft es natürlich auch Westernhagen mit seiner Ode Freiheit noch einmal zurück auf die Playlisten. Erst im Januar diesen Jahres stand der Titel anlässlich des Best of-Albums von Westernhagen nochmal für drei Wochen in den Charts. Bis Platz 79 ging es da. Zum deutschen Jubiläum reicht es für Platz 90 in der 27. Woche.
Vor zwei Wochen erstmals dabei, letzte Woche draußen, jetzt wieder auf Platz 91 in der Liste ist Axel Fischer mit Du trägst keine Liebe in dir. Kein weiterer Kommentar dazu.
Mit dem neuen Album The Circle, das in der letzten Woche auf Platz 1 der Albumcharts startete, sind auch ältere Titel von Bon Jovi gefragt. Allen voran sein größter Hit aus dem Jahr 2000 It’s My Life. In dieser Woche reicht es für diesen Titel sogar zu einer Platzierung innerhalb der umsatzstärksten 100 Titel. Seit Oktober 2000 steht It’s My Life erstmals wieder in der Liste, auf Platz 96. Zur Anzahl der Chartwochen gibt es verschiedene Angaben. Chartsurfer.de zählt 22, musicline.de kommt auf 31. media control könnte hier Aufklärung geben, allerdings möchte das Unternehmen sein Wissen ungern preis geben. Schade eigentlich.
Das gleiche gilt für Ich + Ich. Ihr Album Gute Reise steht seit dem 13. November in den Läden. Bereits im Vorfeld geht neben So soll es bleiben (diese Woche von 82 auf 77) auch Vom selben Stern auf der 99 in die Liste. Es ist bereits die 60. Chartwoche für den Titel, Platz 3 war im juni 2007 die höchste Position.

Oops - mit einem Satz war sie oben und schubst Katy Perry von der Spitze. P!nks neue Single "So What" schafft es in der ersten Woche von nichts dorthin und ist damit ihr erster Solo-Nr.1-Hit. Bisher war sie lediglich zweimal bis auf die Vizeposition vorgestoßen, beide Male im Jahr 2002: zunächst mit ihrem internationalen Durchbruch "Get The Party Started", welches ganze vier Wochen im Februar 2002 auf der 2 aushielt, und wenig später im Oktober noch einmal für eine Woche mit "Just Like A Pill". So ganz unbekannt ist P!nk die Spitzenposition aber nicht. Bereits 2001 war sie zusammen mit Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim und Mya und ihrer Version von "Lady Marmalade" für eine Woche Spitzenreiter. "So What" könnte es durchaus ein wenig länger ganz oben aushalten. Es scheint so, dass Katy Perry doch allmählich an Kraft verliert und die neue Nr. 1 geht ordentlich zur Sache, abgesehen vom nahezu ununterbrochenen Einsatz auf sämtlichen Radiostationen.
Mit dem Wechsel der Top-Position wird auch ein Stückchen besonderer Chartgeschichte geschrieben. Als Autor hinter Katy Perrys Hit "I Kissed A Girl" steht unter anderem Max Martin, und genau der hat auch fleißig bei der neuen Nr.1 von P!nk mitgeschrieben und tritt dort zusätzlich als Produzent auf. Das letzte Mal gab es eine solche Situation im Juni 1986 als Dieter Bohlen mit Modern Talking und "Atlantis Is Calling" den letzten Spitzenreitertitel für das deutsche Duo einfuhr. Entthront wurde damals Chris Norman und "Midnight Lady", produziert von Herrn Bohlen. Den gleichen Hit in einer anderen Version - und damit also ein Komponist sich selber - löste das letzte Mal im Oktober 1981 Frank Zander alias Fred Sonnenschein und seine Freunde ab. Das Original kam von den Electronica's und hieß "Dance Little Bird", auf deutsch dann "Ja, wenn wir alle Englein wären". Die Technoversion hat damit das E-Gitarren-Original zumindest in der Platzierung ganz knapp geschlagen.

Interessant an dieser Doppel-CD sind vor allem die sieben Hands on-Versionen von Scooter-Hits, die von solchen Leuten wie der Bloodhound Gang, Jan Delay, Sido oder Andreas Dorau angefertigt wurden.
Auf der 15 kann sich die fünfte Auskopplung aus dem Linkin Park-Album "Minutes To Midnight" behaupten. "Leave Out All The Rest" nimmt den Sound von "Shadow Of The Day" und "What I've Done" auf und beschert der Band ihren neunten Top 20-Hit. Der letzte "We Made It" in Kollaboration mit Busta Rhymes ist noch gar nicht so alt und ist just in dieser Woche nach zweimaliger Platzierung in der unteren Hälfte und insgesamt 13 Wochen Chartpräsenz aus der Liste entfernt worden. Auch "Leave Out All The Rest" wird von einem aufwändig produzierten Video begleitet, dieses Mal im technisch coolen Science Fiction-Stil mit recht deutlichen Zitaten aus dem Danny Boyle-Streifen von 2007 "Sunshine".
Die 16 geht neu an September. "Cry For You" ist der erste Titel der schwedischen Sängerin, der sich in Deutschland platzieren kann. In ihrem Heimatland war der Titel bereits vor zwei Jahren bis auf die 2 geklettert. Insgesamt sieben Top 10-Titel hatte September innerhalb der vergangenen 7 Jahre zu Hause. Und so war es 2006 an der Zeit, auch europaweit präsent zu sein. Mit "Satellites" konnte sie ihn Spanien eine Nr.1 verbuchen, in Deutschland reichte es nicht zu einer Platzierung. Mit dem Album "Dancing In Orbit", welches sozusagen die größten Hits auf einer Scheibe versammelt, ging es 2008 erneut in die Offensive. Diesmal mit flächendeckendem Erfolg. Bereits im April stieg "Cry For You" in England bis auf die 5. In Deutschland brauchte der Dancetrack etwas länger und steigt jetzt ein. Es könnte gut sein, dass September damit noch ein Nischen-Star bleibt. Größere Aufmerksamkeit dürfte sie erhalten, wenn "Breathe" vom neuen Schiller-Album veröffentlicht wird. Hier liefert September nämlich die Vocals.
Am unteren Ende der besten 20 taucht wie erwartet Maria Mena mit "All This Time (Pick-Me-Up Song)" auf. Platz 17 in dieser Woche und mit Sicherheit geht es weiter aufwärts, vielleicht sogar das erstemal für sie bis in die Top 10.
Auch The Rasmus kehren nach einer schwachen zweiten Woche außerhalb der Top 20 wieder zurück. Mit Platz 19 erreichen sie nicht wieder das Niveau ihres Charteintritts. Für ein paar Wochen mehr in dieser Region dürfte es vermutlich aber reichen.
In den 30ern platzieren sich zwei weitere deutsche Titel. Auf der 35 steigt ein Titel ein, der es im Sommer durch den WDR4 zu einiger Beliebtheit brachte. Die Rede ist vom sogenannten "Jungfrauenchor", einem Medley aus bekannten Stimmungsklassikern. "Erfunden" wurde das Schunkellied von den Laatbleujers aus den Niederlanden. Bislang blieb es in seinem Heimatland aber ohne nennenswerten Erfolg. In Kombination mit Mallorca-Schlagerbarden Olaf Henning, der es in der letzten Karnevalssaison mit dem "Cowboy und Indianer"-Lassotanz bis in die deutschen Top 5 brachte, schafft nun auch der Jungfrauenchor seinen Einzug in die Verkaufscharts. Für Olaf Henning ist dies der zweite Hit in der oberen Hälfte der deutschen Charts. Die Variante von Christian und den sauberen Jung's, neu unter Vertrag bei EMI und betitelt "Das Jungfrauhenchor" (auf dem unabhängigen Label AZ-Records bereits seit April erhältlich), stieg bereits in der letzten Woche auf der 99 ein und schafft es als bester Aufsteiger jetzt auf die 64 und es steht zu vermuten, dass wir bis zum nächsten Frühjahr von beiden Versionen begleitet werden.
Auf der 38 gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit Annett Louisan. "Drück die 1" stammt von ihrem vierten Album "Teilzeithippie". Für sie ist es der sechste Titel, der sich in den deutschen Charts platzieren kann. Einen wirklichen Erfolg konnte sie bislang lediglich mit ihrem Debüt "Das Spiel" verzeichnen, welches im Jahr 2004 bis auf die 5 kletterte.
Der letzte Neueinsteiger unter den ersten 50 geht an eine Band, die in Großbritannien zu den Superstars gehören und mit beinahe jeder Single mindestens die Top 3 erreichten. Insgesamt 8 x holten sie seit 1995 die Nr.1 und mit ihrem neuen Titel sind sie bereits auf der 3 angekommen. In Deutschland blieben sie dagegen bislang eher Album-Act. Und auch mit "The Shock Of The Lightning" ändert sich daran nichts. Oasis sind immerhin zum 16. mal mit einem Track platziert, diese Woche auf der 48.

Und so war es 2006 an der Zeit, auch europaweit präsent zu sein. Mit "Satellites" konnte sie ihn Spanien eine Nr.1 verbuchen, in Deutschland reichte es nicht zu einer Platzierung. Mit dem Album "Dancing In Orbit", welches sozusagen die größten Hits auf einer Scheibe versammelt, ging es 2008 erneut in die Offensive. Diesmal mit flächendeckendem Erfolg. Bereits im April stieg "Cry For You" in England bis auf die 5. In Deutschland brauchte der Dancetrack etwas länger und steigt jetzt ein. Es könnte gut sein, dass September damit noch ein Nischen-Star bleibt. Größere Aufmerksamkeit dürfte sie erhalten, wenn "Breathe" vom neuen Schiller-Album veröffentlicht wird. Hier liefert September nämlich die Vocals.
Am unteren Ende der besten 20 taucht wie erwartet Maria Mena mit "All This Time (Pick-Me-Up Song)" auf. Platz 17 in dieser Woche und mit Sicherheit geht es weiter aufwärts, vielleicht sogar das erstemal für sie bis in die Top 10.
Auch The Rasmus kehren nach einer schwachen zweiten Woche außerhalb der Top 20 wieder zurück. Mit Platz 19 erreichen sie nicht wieder das Niveau ihres Charteintritts. Für ein paar Wochen mehr in dieser Region dürfte es vermutlich aber reichen.
In den 30ern platzieren sich zwei weitere deutsche Titel. Auf der 35 steigt ein Titel ein, der es im Sommer durch den WDR4 zu einiger Beliebtheit brachte. Die Rede ist vom sogenannten "Jungfrauenchor", einem Medley aus bekannten Stimmungsklassikern. "Erfunden" wurde das Schunkellied von den Laatbleujers aus den Niederlanden. Bislang blieb es in seinem Heimatland aber ohne nennenswerten Erfolg. In Kombination mit Mallorca-Schlagerbarden Olaf Henning, der es in der letzten Karnevalssaison mit dem "Cowboy und Indianer"-Lassotanz bis in die deutschen Top 5 brachte, schafft nun auch der Jungfrauenchor seinen Einzug in die Verkaufscharts. Für Olaf Henning ist dies der zweite Hit in der oberen Hälfte der deutschen Charts. Die Variante von Christian und den sauberen Jung's, neu unter Vertrag bei EMI und betitelt "Das Jungfrauhenchor" (auf dem unabhängigen Label AZ-Records bereits seit April erhältlich), stieg bereits in der letzten Woche auf der 99 ein und schafft es als bester Aufsteiger jetzt auf die 64 und es steht zu vermuten, dass wir bis zum nächsten Frühjahr von beiden Versionen begleitet werden.
Auf der 38 gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit Annett Louisan. "Drück die 1" stammt von ihrem vierten Album "Teilzeithippie". Für sie ist es der sechste Titel, der sich in den deutschen Charts platzieren kann. Einen wirklichen Erfolg konnte sie bislang lediglich mit ihrem Debüt "Das Spiel" verzeichnen, welches im Jahr 2004 bis auf die 5 kletterte.
Der letzte Neueinsteiger unter den ersten 50 geht an eine Band, die in Großbritannien zu den Superstars gehören und mit beinahe jeder Single mindestens die Top 3 erreichten. Insgesamt 8 x holten sie seit 1995 die Nr.1 und mit ihrem neuen Titel sind sie bereits auf der 3 angekommen. In Deutschland blieben sie dagegen bislang eher Album-Act. Und auch mit "The Shock Of The Lightning" ändert sich daran nichts. Oasis sind immerhin zum 16. mal mit einem Track platziert, diese Woche auf der 48.
Weitere Neueinsteiger sind Fettes Brot und "Ich lass dich nicht los" auf der 55, Christian Lais mit "Sie vergaß zu verzeih'n" auf der 67, The Disco Boys mit ihrem neuen Track "Shadows" auf der 71, der schwedische Sänger Vincent und "This Is For You" auf der 74 und Travis mit "Song To Self" auf der 88.
