Nov 3rd 17: Fourth Week For BAUSA

The midweek charts had detect a strong challenger for the #1 slot as Perfect by Ed Sheeran reached #2. Later this week the song got a stronger weakness sitting now pretty at #5 again and giving way to Was du Liebe nennst by BAUSA spending a fourth week at the top spot. At runners up position now Camila Cabello ranks with her ode to Havana which is far and away the best appearance she ever claimed.

There is no new entry to the top 10 but two songs re-entering. The higher one at #9 is New Rules by Dua Lipa which gains a new peak in its 14th chart week. So far the song has occupied #10 for three weeks than dropping out for a full month and now rising 12–9 again. New Rules now matches the result of predecessor and so far biggest hit Scared To Be Lonely alongside Martin Garrix.
Second top10 re-entry is Mi Gente by J balvin & Willy William going 11–10 after a single week outside. It is the 13th top10 week which makes the song one of the nine longest running top10 hits in 2017.

Highest new entry comes from Selena Gomez X Marshmello. Wolveslands at #14 in its first chart week. It is Selena Gomez' fourth hit in 2017. Marshmello right now has another hit Silence sitting pretty at #7.

The Imagine Dragons launch a second top20 hit this year with Whatever It Takes going 29-15. Meanwhile Thunder fades slowly to #20.
Also Norwegian DJ Kygo gets a second top20 hit in 2017 with Stargazing taking five places up to #18. It is already chart week no. six for that song.
At #19 What Lovers Do by Maroon 5 Feat. SZA goes. It is the first top20 appearance for the band since three years.

Watching the top 20 one can witness a strong presence of artists from the US. Between #11 and #20 there are nine songs involving US artists–eight songs are from US acts alone. It is this a very strong return as three years ago there were weeks with only two or even one top20 song involving stars from the US.

Worth mentioning:
Sunrise Ave's Help You Hate Me slowly catches fire as it goes 61–43 in its sixth chart week. Times when the band invaded top10 status easily seem long ago.
Kogong is the newest offering by Mark Forster who re-released his album TAPE enriched with that song. In its third chart week Kogong goes 78–53.
A 87–68 jump is taken by Charlie Puth with his song How Long.

Hulapalu by Andreas Gabalier spends a 85th week inside the top100. It now is the 15th highest result of chart weeks of all times. Well–the best performing single still is Sky And Sand by Paul & Fritz Kalkbrenner that collected 129 non consecutive chart weeks.

Feb 24th 17: KYGO Is Back

Ed Sheeran holds firm at the top for a seventh week with Shape Of You. So it definitely is one of the big hits of 2017. And it writes chart history as it now adds the 22nd consecutive week of having a British act at the German top. I checked the lists before 1971 too and so I have the honour to tell you: Never before in chart history British acts performed as successful.

This period of course might end soon as there are no proper candidates for #1 coming from Britain in this moment. The highest new entry which lands at #3 is a Norwegian-USAmerican collaboration between DJ KYGO and singer Selena Gomez. It Ain't Me marks the return to chart power for the DJ after half a year of abstinence. It is his third Top 3 hit following 2015 success Stole The Show that peaked at #2 in June 2015.
Selena Gomez hits top 10 status for the very first time. So far her German chart debut Naturally was the highest performing single by peaking at #12 in spring 2010.

New inside the top20 Burak Yeter is. The Turkish born DJ brings his German chart debut Tuesday in its third week to hit status.

In opposite to the British hiatus of productions Germans are quite underrepresented this week. The highest German production lands as low as #19 in the face of Robin Schulz in collaboration with David Guetta & Cheat Codes. Shed A Light drops down seven places. The highest track using German language sits newly at #20 with the next available track by Zuna Cazal.

June 19th 15:

Well Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) holds firm at no.1 and now is the longest running no.1 track in 2015. Last song spending seven weeks at the top was lovers on the sun by David Guetta feat. Sam Martin in late summer 2014.
Felix Jaehn–producer of current no.1–also now is the artist collecting most no.1 weeks in 2015 followed by Ellie Goulding and partner Jasmine Thompson who both so far count seven weeks.

KYGO climbs one further place to #2 with his new hit Stole The Show and now becomes the most successful Norwegian act since Marit Larsen occupied no.1 for five weeks with If A Song Could Get Me You in August and September 2009.

supergirl by Anna Naklab feat. Alle Farben & YouNotUs enters the top 5 in its 10th chart week. The cover of the Reamonn hit from 2000 stops one short to its original peak at #4. It is already the second top 10 entry for German DJ Alle Farben who debuted a year ago with She Moves - Far Away by peaking at #9.


Highest new entry is the winning song of fifth episode of Sing meinen Song aired on June 16th. Wirtz lands his version on Wenn sie diesen Tango hört originally recorded by PUR but never released as a single on #14. It is three ranks better than Yvonne Catterfeld did last week and so the peak so far this year. 2014 season saw Sarah Connor flying to #12 with her version on Keine ist wie du–that's the all over peak of songs recorded for the TV show so far.


KC Rebell's fifth album Fata Morgana was released and directly flies to #1. The success also propells some single tracks into the list. Best selling of all Bist du real (feat. Moé) which lands at number 15 and gives the rapper his highest peak so far. Additionally there is Augenblick (Feat. Summer Cem) at #71.

German productions are very visible inside the survey. We do have 5 German productions inside the top 10 plus 5 further down to #20. All in all there 30 productions with German artists inside the list.


A last gimmick at the end. Royal weddings are pop. As on the ceremony of Prince Carl Philipp of Sweden and Sofia a singer staged with Fix You the original by Coldplay enters the list at number 89 again.

June 5th 15: KYGO hits top 5 for a second time

No change at the very top. Still Felix Jaehn feat. Jasmine Thompson still sit pretty at #1 with Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better). It is the fifth week for the song which makes it as successful as Prayer in C by Lily Wood & The Pricks and Robin Schulz who set the record as best selling deep house track ever. Also Ain't Nobody Better approaches slowly the success of Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding which serves so far as the single with most #1 weeks in 2015 so far. One week to go for recent #1 to equal the result dating back to March this current year.

Back at number 2 Jason Derulo is with Want To Want Me.

Norwegian DJ KYGO gets a second Top10 hit after he was performing on the (second) final of Germany's Next Top Model on May 28th. The first final scheduled for mid May was interrupted cause of a bomb thread. Now his Stole The Show goes 11–4 in its 11th chart week and only shortly misses the peak of predecessor Firestone. It is the fifth Top10 hit coming from a Norwegian artist within 14 months. This week there are two songs simultaneously inside the top 10 and six inside the Hot 100–an impressive feat which is never seen before.

Also new inside the Top 10 next single by David Guetta is. Hey Mama (Featuring Nicki Minaj & Afrojack) collected nine chart weeks already as an album cut from Listen released in early December 2014. After new remixes swapping around especially the one with additional vocals by Bebe Rexha the track again started rising up the survey now landing at number 9. It is David Guetta's 15th top 10 hit, Nicki Minaj already has four top 10 hits under her name and Afrojack invades the top 10 for a second time.


Highest new entry almost sets a negative record as SIDO's first single from his upcoming album VI lands at number 40. Only once in 2015 a highest new entry started chart life worse. It was on January 9th when a lack of new released stuff causes regularly absences of good new entries. Wether classic rap track Ackan will rise higher is doubtful–the biggest hits of Sido were more pop appealed productions.


At number 50 we can find Skrillex for the very first time inside the upper half of the list. Where are Ü now is his fifth chart track at all and has some support by DIPLO who appears as solo artist for the second time inside the top 50–as part of Major Lazer he knows how it feels at the top end too– and Justin Bieber who missed the upper ranks for the past 18 months. So this track seems a highly successful production.

6th of March 2015: Ellie Goulding Better Than Adele

It is the third week at number 1 for Love Me Like You Do. Since Rather Be by Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne 11 months ago no British act did so.
Much more sensational is the fact that the last British solo female with at least three weeks at number 1 in Germany was Leona Lewis in early 2008 when her Bleeding Love occupied the top for four weeks.

Also other songs from the movie score of Fifty Shades Of Grey gain some more attention. The Weeknd goes 24–17 with Earned It launching his biggest hit to date and Annie Lennox sees her take on I Put A Spell On You rising 81–63 in its second chart week. Finally Vaults can gain 11 ranks too landing at number 85 with One Last Night.

Talking 'bout movie scores this is a good week as the highest new entry is featured by Fast & Furious 7. It is Ride Out by Kid Ink, TYGA, YG, Wale & Rich Homie Quan that starts chart life at number 34. Another track comes in at number 60 in the likes of Go Hard Or Go Home recorded by Wiz Khalifa & Iggy Azalea.



Norwegian KYGO rises another three places arriving now at number 3 with his Firestone. Exactly one year ago the last Norwegian act entered the Top3 in the face of Nico & Vince and their Am I Wrong. A better performance for an act coming from Norway was not seen for five and a half year. Back than it was Marit Larsen who launched a number 1 hit with If A Song Could Get Me You.

At number 10 there is the one and only new song inside the Top 10. It is Meghan Trainor who finally can launch her second Top 10 hit with Lips Are Movin. It took her nine weeks to come so far.

Philipp Dittberner & Marv can enter the top 20 with their Wolke 4. It is the sixth chart week for that song that lands at #16 falling only one place short of becoming best selling song in German. That one still is Flash Mich by Mark Forster rising again one single place to #15.


The longest running hit at this time is Atemlos durch die Nacht by Helene Fischer. The single still sits pretty at number 37. With 68 consecutive weeks inside the survey it now belongs to the ten hits with the longest chart runs. All in all the song has 72 chart weeks under its belt. Enough for being one of 28 hits with more than 70 weeks.
Hard on the heels is Ed Sheeran with his I See Fire. The song stands in its 64th week at number 39.
