It is the third week at number 1 for Love Me Like You Do. Since Rather Be by Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne 11 months ago no British act did so.
Much more sensational is the fact that the last British solo female with at least three weeks at number 1 in Germany was Leona Lewis in early 2008 when her Bleeding Love occupied the top for four weeks.
Also other songs from the movie score of Fifty Shades Of Grey gain some more attention. The Weeknd goes 24–17 with Earned It launching his biggest hit to date and Annie Lennox sees her take on I Put A Spell On You rising 81–63 in its second chart week. Finally Vaults can gain 11 ranks too landing at number 85 with One Last Night.
Talking 'bout movie scores this is a good week as the highest new entry is featured by Fast & Furious 7. It is Ride Out by Kid Ink, TYGA, YG, Wale & Rich Homie Quan that starts chart life at number 34. Another track comes in at number 60 in the likes of Go Hard Or Go Home recorded by Wiz Khalifa & Iggy Azalea.
Norwegian KYGO rises another three places arriving now at number 3 with his Firestone. Exactly one year ago the last Norwegian act entered the Top3 in the face of Nico & Vince and their Am I Wrong. A better performance for an act coming from Norway was not seen for five and a half year. Back than it was Marit Larsen who launched a number 1 hit with If A Song Could Get Me You.
At number 10 there is the one and only new song inside the Top 10. It is Meghan Trainor who finally can launch her second Top 10 hit with Lips Are Movin. It took her nine weeks to come so far.
Philipp Dittberner & Marv can enter the top 20 with their Wolke 4. It is the sixth chart week for that song that lands at #16 falling only one place short of becoming best selling song in German. That one still is Flash Mich by Mark Forster rising again one single place to #15.
The longest running hit at this time is Atemlos durch die Nacht by Helene Fischer. The single still sits pretty at number 37. With 68 consecutive weeks inside the survey it now belongs to the ten hits with the longest chart runs. All in all the song has 72 chart weeks under its belt. Enough for being one of 28 hits with more than 70 weeks.
Hard on the heels is Ed Sheeran with his I See Fire. The song stands in its 64th week at number 39.

The album doesn't perform that well in Germany. Number 2 in Britain and Switzerland and a number 5 in the US stand in sharp contrast to the number 20 new entry on the German list. Anyway it is the highest position a Calvin Harris album ever achieved here.

Other songs getting a sales boost are:
- I See Fire by Ed Sheeran goes 47–36 in its 48th chart week
- Du bist das Licht by Gregor Meyle after performed by Philipp Leon Altmeyer on the Blind audition show on 30th October – number 69 is a new peak for the song taken from the 2012 album Meile für Meyle
- Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis re-enters at number 81 after a nine months absence
- Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson re-entering number 83. In fact the iTunes list reports the version with Justin Timberlake much more downloaded than the solo take
- Shot Me Down by David Guetta feat Skylar Grey re-enters at 98
Way Up The Charts

7th of Nov 2014:

Spending a fifth week at the Top makes Meghan Trainer the first USAmerican solo female since 2009 who can hold such a strong success over at least five weeks. From March to April 2009 it was Lady Gaga with her Poker Face that was the top selling single for 11 consecutive weeks (adding further two weeks after a 3 weeks breaks).
The male statistic looks less impressive. Pharrell Williams still is the one who overturns the actual success with his Happy. That song collected eight number 1 weeks at the beginning of 2014–six of them in a row.

Anyway it is the fourth Top 10 appearance for the singer but the first as an solo artist.
Having Geronimo by Sheppard still at number 3 there are two Australian acts simultaneously inside the Top 10. Last time we had that situation was back in March 2012 when Gotye still clang on with his number 1 hit Somebody That I Used To Know and SIA accompanied Flo Rida on his Wild Ones.

To find a track that took longer it is necessary to llok back only til May 2012. Than it was Ma chérie by DJ Antoine peaking at number 6 in its 29th chart week.
24th of Oct 2014: New Star Gregor Meyle
It is the third week for Meghan Trainor and her All About That Bass at the Top of the list. It is the same picture as in the UK where she follows Lady Gaga as the first American female that can spend three consecutive weeks at the top. In Germany it is R(ihanna) with Diamonds who occupied the top for three weeks as an American female artist. And if you look for a USAmerican female you have to got back to December 2011 when Lana del Rey placed her Video Games as the best selling single for three weeks.
Which one is the more successful casting format? The question for now gets an answer. Last issue it was Amoi seg' ma uns wieder by Andreas Gabalier which returned to number 9 after a contestant sang it on Das Supertalent. This week it is Keine ist wie du by Gregor Meyle which outsells last weeks success by landing straight at number 2. The song was performed by Björn Amadeus Kahl on the second blind audition show of The Voice of Germany on 10th of October 2014.
The song first was published as part of the album Meile für Meyle in 2012. It wasn't released as a standalone single but in May this current year Sarah Connor was performing the ballad on Sing meinen Song which gave her a number 12 entry and propelled the original recording into the charts at number 40. It was already the second best performing song for the singer. Now the recording rockets back and indeed eclipses everything the artist ever achieved in chart terms. Number 2 is the highest position for Gregor Meyle at all and after six years inside the professional music business his first Top10 entry ever.
The winner of next week shows some first muscles already in this list. On Thursday October the 16th Ben Dettinger performed his version on Sam Smith's Stay With Me which gives the single a sales boost. It rises 19–11 in its 23rd chart week collecting only the downloads on Thursday night itself. There is a good perspective that British Sam Smith will launch his second Top 10 hit in next weeks time.
Newly inside the Top5 Taylor Swift arrives. In the US her Shake It Off is already the second Nr.1 song–in Germany it is her best selling single so far peaking this week at number 5.
Sun Goes Downarrives inside the Top10 in its 4th chart week. It is already the third Top10 for Robin Schulz in this year alone. A year ago he was completely unknown. Undoubtedly he is the newcomer of the year.
The best selling album comes from German rapper Shindy. Of course there are three solo tracks that make it up in the singles list as well. Best performing Sterne is at number 40. Accompanying Bushido on this track now collects his 44th chart entry–the 22nd in this current decade. As an comparison Michael Jackson also had 44 chart hits in his whole career. The difference of course ist the success. Bushido since 2010 never reached the Top 10 having 17 consecutive chart entries not reaching the upper places of the list. Michael Jackson alone in Germany had have 20 Top 10 hits.

17th of Oct 2014:

A real solo number one for at least two weeks by a female was last achieved by R(ihanna) and her Diamonds at the tall end of 2012.

It is again time for the Supertalent. The second casting show by Dieter Bohlen every year in autumn launches some short flash hits and more and more overturns the direct chart success of his classic DSDS format. The second show of the current Supertalent season boosts Austrian Andreas Gabalier back to the charts.

Tracks On The Rise

10th of Oct 2014: Meghan Trainor goes Number 1

Meghan Trainor also ends the five months long period of straight number one songs. Her All About The Bass tops the list in its seventh chart week. It is a slow rise only beaten up by Rather Be offered by Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne

All in all there are nine tracks inside the survey under attendance of an Australian act. That's pretty cool for that country.
Bouncing back five places Blame by Calvin Harris feat. John Newman spends a second week inside the Top 10. A boost might follow in next weeks time when full CD release sales count in the survey.
With Komm lass uns gehen by Revolverheld dropping three places to number 7 the Top 5 misses a German production–the first time since October 2013. Probably it ends now one of the most successful times for German productions since years.
On The Way Up
The Imagine Dragons still know where they're coming from. In occasion of the League of Legends World Championship the band released Warriors which goes this week 84–58. Their first hit in Europe Radioactive became popular after its use in a commercial for The Assassin's Creed III.
After twice sneaking in at number 97 ANIMALS by MAROON 5 now catches a little more fire and re-enters at number 64.
