Klingande spend a fifth week at number 1. Meaning Jubel eclipses the success of Bob Sinclars anthem Love Generation which was the last French production that was the most sold single for five weeks. That was back in 2006. To find another French success of that dimension one has to go back to autumn 1989 when Lambada paralyzed at least whole Europe. The project Kaoma had an impressive 10 weeks turn on the German top.

Adel Tawil brings his Lieder back to runner’s up position. After the run in the first week on sale and his first released album the song can made it to a real standalone hit too. So far he was once number 1 as an solo artist alongside Azad and once as one half of Ich + Ich.

A little sensation takes place on the upper place with a complete British free Top 10. Such a situation wasn’t seen for a long long time. Highest British act comes in at number 11 in the face of James Blunt. Further down some more acts show their power: With his album Swings Both Ways flying to number 1 Robbie Williams’ single Go Gentle also takes a leap to land at number 16 this week. The duet with Olly Murs I Wan'na Be Lik You sneaks in at number 85 while Dream A Little Dream Of Me with Lily Allen lands three places further down.
Back to the upper regions: After nine weeks outside the Top 20 Birdy’s Wings is back at number 18. Peak of the single was in its release week in late September at number 15.

At number 21 a dance track comes in that ain’t fully released yet. Changes by French Faul & Wad Ad feat. Pnau is already a big hit in clubs and perfectly fits the number one sound of Klingande and likes. It’s very certain that we witness here the next big hit.

Helene Fischer now gets the full Bambi award effect: her single Atemlos durch die Nacht jumps 69–22 after her hosting and performance within the show aired on TV. It is this a new peak for the song and the second highest place she ever achieved in the singles chart after this year's Fehlerfrei which touched the Top 20 for one single week and now goes 86–54 again. – Her hit ich will immer wieder ...dieses fieber spürn also bounces up the list stopping at number 48 which is the highest position since its first chart run in autumn 2009.

Watching a hit growing: one week before its release as a single Unconditionally by Katy Perry rises further 20 places stopping at number 34. Also the Sportfreunde Stiller see their album title track New York Rio Rosenheim rising steadily. This weeks it arrives inside the upper half stopping at number 49 in its seventh chart week.

All NIght by Swedish Icona Pop gots some attention by its use for the latest ABSOLUT VODKA commercial campaign. Their first hit I Love It was benefitting heavily from a similar deal. Will the 97–66 turn of the new song enable as the begin of their next big hit?

The opener song of P!NK's one year old album The Truth About Love calls Are We All We Are and this week the song makes it up to a chart entry at number 82 as an album cut.

TKO–the second single from Justin Timberlake's album The 20/20 Experience: Two of two returns to chart honours after a new remix is around and the artist is back in the news with his movie Inside Llewyn Davis that will start in Germany soon. The single so far sneaks in at number 90.

Hot Spot 11-01-13

And again Germany does have a new Number 1 hit this week. It is Sweden’s new super DJ/producer AVICII who can set a second track at number 1 this current year. Hey Brother is the track in question – still a week before its release on single CD.

Having two No.1 singles is a feat not that usual in Germany – in 2013 we have this situation already for the second time. In June there was Pharrell Williams credited as an artist for two consecutive Nr.1 hits: First he entered the top alongside Daft Punk on Get Lucky. A fortnight later he was also credited on Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.

Two No.1 hits as a main artist – that's a feat we've last seen in 2009 when Lady Gaga had her hiatus with Poker Face collecting 13 weeks at the Top followed by Paparazzi 15 weeks later.

Watching two artists topping the list twice in a year is a feat much harder to find. In 2008 Katy Perry managed a double with I Kissed A Girl in September and Hot N Cold in December and Timbaland topped the list with Apologize (presenting OneRepublic) and was the man behind 4 Minutes performed and credited to Madonna & Justin (Timberlake). In 2003 we had two main acts having two No.1 hits: first superstar Alexander shot to the Top with Take Me Tonight and Free Like The Wind and The Black Eyed Peas launched Where Is The Love? and Shut Up becoming No.1 hits.

More statistics? AVICII only is the sixth act in this current decade with two No.1 hits. - Three weeks in a row with a completely new track at the Top was last seen in October 2009 when RAMMSTEIN (Pussy) was dethroned by David Guetta Feat. Akon (Sexy Bitch) who were dethroned by Lady Gaga (Paparazzi) who left the Top spot for Robbie Williams (Bodies) after a single week.

Finally I can tell you that 2013 is the second consecutive year that two Swedish productions occupy the Top – meaning Swedish music is popular in Germany than never before. Even between 1991 and 1995 when six different Swedish productions went to Number 1 the time span between that hits where much longer than right now. So it is no surprise realizing the fact that according to number 1 hits only music coming from the USA is more successful in Germany right now.

Talking bout AVICII also leads to a note concerning the voice of Wake Me Up!. Aloe Blacc released an own take on the tune that now enters at number 71. Probably that version won't go number 1 – at least it gives the singer his third official chart entry.



There are some other stories too: The most successful German act in this very moment is the duo Milky Chance. After releasing their album Sadnecessary on CD the track Stolen Dance can climb three more places to number 4 becoming the highest ranking German production since three months. The track itself is available as a digital download only.

After the album Unholy Ground by Sunrise Ave is released and gets number 3 in the album list the single Lifesaver also becomes a Top 10 hit by bouncing 22–9 this week. It is the highest position for the band since it went No.3 two and a half years ago with Hollywood Hills. In reminiscence of that big success the song re-enters at number 36 which marks the highest position for it since two years. The initial success for the band Fairytale Gone Bad from 2006 also can re-enter. It lands at number 46 in its 71st chart week which is actually number 19 of most charted acts.


Justin Bieber surely wants to become the most charting act in 2013. Since three weeks he has started releasing every Friday a new song. The tracks also chart in Germany – of course the target group is a very narrow one, so the tracks leave the list very fast. This week the teenie star manages a double entry. His own new song Hold Tight starts at number 56, the collaboration with TYGA Wait For A Minute shows up at number 63. So far Justin Bieber set up seven different tracks in 2013. Only Flo Rida, Pitbull and - yes - Helene Fischer so far brought more into the list. His summary for the whole decade is 17 – making him the fifth busiest act so far.


Upcoming hits:
New York, Rio, Rosenheim - the title track of the album by Sportfreunde Stiller starts to climb up the charts after the band's tour started a few days ago. This week the song not scheduled for a proper single release stops at number 62.

Scheduled for full release on 2nd November Mark Forster's new single Zu dir (Weit weg) enters the list at number 64.

Probably not really a big future hit Dark Horse by Katy Perry Feat. Juicy J enters at number 81 picked as a single track from freshly released album Prism. In the USA the track was the first promotional track offered in September. In Germany one had to wait till now.


Casting show effects
The current season of The Voice Of Germany just started a few weeks ago. Again Hoss Power and Boss Burns of The BossHoss are part of the jury. In time the band released a new album (Flames Of Flames) and a single (Do It). Latter one sneaks around number 35 for some weeks meanwhile the band's signature song Don't Gimme That returns into the list at number 76.

Max Herre does similar. His biggest hit Wolke 7 returns at number 88.

Also Das Supertalent bans people in front of their TV's. The fourth show aired on 20th October supports songs of Helene Fischer (#74) and Philipp Poisel (#83 + #97).

Hot Spot 06-07-13

It is the second week for Get Lucky at number 1. Daft Punk now is the first French act having that honour for at least two weeks since seven years. Back than it was Bob Sinclar and his non official soccer WM anthem Love Generation that spent whole five unconsecutive weeks at the German Top.
Collaborating artist Pharrell Williams also is one of three artists landing at runners up position. It is Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke feat. T.I. + Pharrell that jumps 11 places still a week ahead of its proper release on CD. The track got huge support by Robin Thicke’s performance at the final of Germany’s Next Top Model. 3,72 Million people watched the show on TV.

Also PSY and Bruno Mars had a performance and profit from the airing. Gentleman rises seven places to number 25 again and his big hit Gangnam Style jumps full 19 places to number 61. And Bruno Mars’ new single Treasure enters at number 91 while Locked Out Of Heaven dips in again at number 92.

With a new album released the single applaus! applaus! by sportfreunde stiller takes a six place leap to number 4 this week. It is now the second best performing track of the band falling short only behind 2006 Nr. 1 song 54 74 90 2006. Ein Kompliment also gets back to the list–one can find it at number 99 which gives the track a 64th chart week.

A week ago 2 Chainz feat. Wiz Khalifa showed that there are big things to come with their new track We Own It. Now with promoting movie Fast And Furious 6 in theatres, 790 thousands watchers on the first weekend and the physical CD in stores the single jumps up to number 5 giving Wiz Khalifa his second Top 5 hit in a year.

Counting Stars by OneRepublic rises steadily. Now it reaches number 26 in its third chart week.

Last week there were 24 new songs entering the charts – as much as never before. This current week the result changes completely. We only have four new tracks in the list. The highest song entering the list is an old one. Stern des Südens gains new popularity duely to the success of soccer team of FC Bayern München that won the European Champions League on May 25th. A week later they also became master of the German DFB pocal–it is quite certain that the Bayern-Fans United rise some places further with their single next week. By the way–it is only the 19th week in more than 15 years that the single can collect. The sports team is much more successfull.

Highest new track comes in at number 42 thanks to the release of the Pacha Summer 2013 compilation. So far Bang Bang (Explode) was available only on independent download platforms. Now it is brought to the masses. The track itself is far from a really new composition. It is much more a further remix of the Explode theme by Shaun Baker last seen on the list in 2010 as Gib mir 10 (Explode 3). Back than Shaun Baker collaborated with Austrian Darius & Finlay. The new rework repeats that constallation: DF&S stands for the initials of the three producers.
Number 42 by the way is the highest place the tune ever reached in its eight years long chart life.

Upcoming single of JLO Featuring: Pitbull bounces around the list . This week it goes 73–37 reaching a new peak. The officially digital release was scheduled for June the 1st according to big seller amazon. Let’s wait where the track lands next week finally.

Nr.1 hit Need U (100%) by Duke Dumont Feat. A*M*E catches slowly fire in Germany too. The track rises 77–46 this current week. – Scheduled for June 21st Rihanna already now climbs with her new single Right Now to number 48. – Accompanied by a mix from David Guetta the single CD release of This is what it feels like by Armin van Buuren Featuring Trevor Guthrie was announced for May 31st. A week before the track re-enters the German list at number 61. Support also came from the release of the KONTOR House of Summer 2013 compilation.

Whatever the new demand for Birdy caused–the singer is one of the winners this week. Her top 10 track People Help The People rises back to number 67, her single Skinny Love re-enters at number 73. It is the highest position the track ever achieved.

Finally at the end of the list KE$HA Feat: WILL.I.AM; enter the list with Crazy Kids. The track already is available for almost a month–but the video was premiered not earlier than end of May on MTV. Now also TV addicted kids know the track.

ON May 26th Rocky III was aired for the 1000th time. Still the soundtrack attracs a lot of people. Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor enters the list afterwards at number 95 and so becomes the song with the longest chart career in 2013. It was first listed on September 6th 1982–almost 31 years ago.

29. Januar 2010: Zum Tonic gehört Gin … Sportfreunde Stiller

Neue CD-Single von den Sportfreunden Stiller: Lass mich nie mehr los. Genau genommen, die dritte Auskopplung aus dem MTV unplugged in New York-Album. Nur das auf dr aktuellen CD auch noch eine sauber produzierte Studioversion mitgeliefert wird. Und die klingt dann schon fast romantisch, während das Original noch wesentlich mehr von dieser beinahe kuschelig-süßen Jungenhaftigkeit rüberbringt, welche bei den Sportfreunden ja irgendwie immer mitschwingt. Ist halt ne Jungsband – also eine Große Jungs-Band. Die wollen gar nicht erwachsen und schlau sein. Und einigen Mädchen gefällt das ja auch richtig gut.

Jetzt also haben die Sportfreunde nochmal zugelangt und eine Art Liebeslied vorgelegt. Bisschen romantisch, bisschen tolpatschig auch, absolut in der Tradition stehend von den ganz großen Bekenntnissen in Liedform: „Du bist der Himmel, ich die Wolke …“ etc. Kennen wir ja. Ist immer wieder schön. Und wie wir merken gibt es noch viel, was da auf dieser Welt zusammengehört. Zumal in einer Welt, die sich wahnsinnig schnell ändert. Das heißt, es darf gern weitergedichtet werden.

Und die Sportfreunde Stiller, die hatten zwar mit ihrer Fußballhymne ’54 74 90 2006 nach wie vor ihren größten kommerziellen Erfolg, Platz 16 nimmt sich da für Lass mich nie mehr los fast schon ein bisschen mager aus … aber immerhin, es ist der zweite Top 20 Erfolg aus dem Unplugged-Album und sogar auf Anhieb besser platziert als die Vorgängersingle Ich war noch niemals in New York … aber zurück zum eigentlichen Text: die Sportfreunde Stiller machen sich dennoch erst mit dieser neuen Single wirklich unverzichtbar in der deutschsprachigen Pop-Geschichte. Ein Kompliment, Ich war noch niemals in New York und jetzt Lass mich nie mehr los … für dieses Dreigespann allein gehören sie geadelt. Denn so cool mauss man erstmal sein, dass man das alles ohne jeglichen Imageschaden verkaufen kann.

25. September 2009: GaGa Nr.4

Erfolgreichster Singlestart am 11. September und damit höchste Neueinsteigerin in dieser Woche wird Lady GaGa mit Paparazzi. Ihre Single landet auf Platz 3 und so hat sie einen vierten Top 10 in Folge. Damit nicht genug, diese vier Titel waren alle in diesem Jahr unter den ersten 10 notiert. Just Dance startete zwar bereits vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr, im ersten Anlauf ging es dann aber lediglich bis Platz 15. Erst als die Kollaboration mit Colby O’Donnis in Großbritannien bis zur 1 emporstieg, ging es auch in Deutschland noch mal rein in die Liste und hoch bis Platz 10. Das war dann im März der Fall, als Poker Face bei uns schon seinen Siegeszug angetreten hatte. Tja und im Juli folgte dann Lovegame, was allerdings mit Platz 7 ein bisschen unter dem blieb, was einige erwartet haben. Beide Titel sind immer noch gut vertreten, befinden sich aber mittlerweile doch recht deutlich auf dem Rückzug. Poker Face rutscht von der 25 auf die 31 (mittlerweile in der 30. Woche notiert) und Lovegame fällt von der 39 auf die 48. Jetzt aber ist neu Paparazzi da und führt Lady Gaga zurück in die Spitzengruppe. Im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängern ist Paparazzi doch eher sparsam instrumentiert, was ganz schön ist. Die ewigen Bombastproduktionen nerven dann irgendwann doch. Aber natürlich bleibt Lady Gaga sich selbst treu. Elektro-affine Klänge plus ihrem Gesangspart, der mich in manchen Momenten tatsächlich an Gwen Stefani erinnert.

Mit der vierten Top 10-Auskopplung aus ihrem Album The Fame etabliert sich Lady GaGa jetzt mehr oder weniger endgültig als Superstar of the Moment. Sie ist nicht nur der einzige Act bisher in diesem Jahr, welche vier Hits so weit oben platzieren kann, insgesamt hat sie mit ihren Titeln 2009 bereits 29 Wochen in den oberen 10 gesammelt und ist damit fast uneinholbar die erfolgreichste Interpretin. Rein rechnerisch wäre es zwar noch möglich, dass die hinter ihr folgendenBlack Eyed Peas oder auch Cassandra Steen (jeweils 18 Top 10-Wochen in 2009) noch aufholen können, aber dazu müssten diese sofort mit einem Top 10-Hit aufwarten, der bis zum Jahresende in den oberen 10 verbleibt. Und für Paparazzi müsste es außerdem ab sofort vorbei sein. Lady GaGa kann also jetzt schon als die kommerziell erfolgreichste Künstlerin des Jahres 2009 gefeiert werden. Bester männlicher Solo-Act im Sinne von Top 10-Platzierungen wird übrigens David Guetta mit derzeit 17 Wochen.

Anfügen will ich hier, dass Lady Gaga gerade bei den MTV Video Music Awards mit drei Titeln abgeräumt hat. Sie wurde „Best New Artist“ mit Poker Face und erhielt den Titel „Best Special-Effect“ sowie „Best Art-Direction“ für eben Paparazzi. Lohnt sich also durchaus mal, das Video anzusehen … allerdings kann ich das nicht wirklich einschätzen, ob und was da so umwerfend ist.

Lady Gaga auf der 3, das heißt … Marit Larsen steht eine fünfte Woche an der Spitze der deutschen Charts. If A Song Could Get Me You ist nun also genauso erfolgreich wie ihre Landeskolleg_Innen von Aqua (6 Wochen in 1997) und a-ha (5 Wochen 1985). Das bedeutet auch, wenn einmal ein Hit aus Norwegen sich etabliert, dann ist es wirklich einer, der mindestens einen kompletten Monat on Top ist. Aber irgendwie ist es auch bedauerlich, dass laut Statistik der nächste norwegische Nr.1-Hit erst 2021 ansteht …

Auf die Vizeposition kehren David Guetta feat. Akon zurück. Sexy Bitch kann sich also in dieser Woche gegen Shakiras She Wolf durchsetzen, das von der 2 auf die 4 taumelt. Ist Sexy Bitch nun tatsächlich so was wie ein dauerhafterer Hit? Ungewöhnlich wäre es, da David Guetta als DJ und Produzent im Club- bzw. Dancebereicheher eine eingegrenztere Zielgruppe ansprechen dürfte. Und Sexy Bitch ist nicht unbedingt das, was man radiokompatibel nennt. Da war Vorgänger When Love Takes Over wesentlich geschmeidiger... Schöner Erfolg also für David Guetta und Akon.

Der erfolgreichste Newcomer der Woche ist der Brite Charlie Winston . Und er hat eine recht ungewöhnliche Geschichte, wie er zu Ruhm gelangte. Nach ein paar Jahren als Musiker in allen möglichen Gebieten, unter anderem auch für Theater und Film, kam Charlie Winston zum französischen Label Atmosphériques, bei dem er sein Album Hobo produzierte. Dieses verkaufte sich mehr oder weniger erfolgreich. Richtig bekannt wurde er allerdings erst, als sein Titel Like A hobo im Vorspann der französischen Talk-Show „Le Grand Journal” lief. Daraufhin entwickelte sich eine derartige Nachfrage, dass der Titel in Frankreich bis auf die 1 stieg, in der Schweiz und in Belgien ging es ähnlich zu. Solche Geschichten kennen wir auch hierzulande. Denken wir zum Beispiel an Emilìana Torrini. Häufig bleiben diese Phänomene aber auf die Verbreitungsgebiete der auslösenden Medien beschränkt. Nicht so bei Charlie Winston. Dieser wird nach dem erfolg im französischsprachigen Raum, nun auch in Deutschland vermarktet. Und Like A Hobo, ein schönes Country-Lied mit leicht melancholischem Unterton, schafft es in der Woche nach Veröffentlichung auf Platz12. Bleibt jetzt eigentlich nur noch der Sprung zurück in sein Heimatland. – Das Album Hobo folgt übrigens genau jetzt in Deutschland.

Wenn ein Act einen Sommerhit gelandet hat, dann ist es immer recht spannend zu sehen, ob da denn noch mehr kommt. Die meisten verbrennen schnell, weil ihnen kein eingängiges Thema mehr einfällt, oder sie krebsen noch eine Weile mit derselben Formel herum und verschwinden nach spätestens zwei Jahren endgültig von der Bildfläche. Einer der Sommerhits 2009 war zweifellos I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) von dem kubano-amerikanischen Rapper Pitbull. In Chartplatzierungen ausgedrückt stand er auf Platz 8 der deutschen Liste, bisher 14 Wochen lang platziert. Das ist gar nicht so viel, in anderen Ländern Europas steht da wesentlich mehr in der Statistik. Egal. - Mit dem 11. September legt er Hit Nummer 2 aus seinem aktuellen Album Rebelution nach: Hotel Room Service. Natürlich ist dieser Titel wieder mehr als explizit und, ja, dieser Lateinamerikaner mag es wie viele aus dem Genre enorm sexualisiert. Das Ganze tut er sowohl verbal als auch in einem Soundmix, der genau auf diese Ebene funktioniert. Arschkick-Anmach-Mukke – das wäre vielleicht die Schublade, in die das Teil gehört. Clever gesamplet ist die Hookline aus dem Klassiker der Nightcrawlers Push The Feeling On, die dem Ganzen dann wirklich richtigen Wiedererkennungswert verleiht. Und wenn der Original Radio Mix eventuell doch etwas fad ist, das was an kunterbunten Elektro-Acid-Remixen im Netz existiert ist einfach der helle Wahnsinn. Sorry, ich find den Track schlichtweg geil und genauso einschlagend wie Calle 8. Platz 22 in Deutschland in dieser Woche. Ihr dürft mich dafür auch blöd finden.

Als erfolgreichsten deutschen Singlestart gibt es einen Klassiker. Einer der erfolgreichsten deutschsprachigen Sänger ist nämlich zurück: Udo Jürgens gehört(e) seit Beginn der 60er Jahre zu denproduktivsten und angesehensten Künstlern in seinem Genre. Bis 1991 war der Österreicher nahezu ununterbrochen präsent. Den Höhepunkt seiner Karriere feierte er in den 70er Jahren. 1975 belegte er zum Beispiel für insgesamt acht Wochen mit Griechischer Wein den Spitzenplatz der deutschen Singlehitparade. Aber natürlich ist es zu kurz gegriffen, ihn auf diesen einen Titel zu reduzieren. Um alle seine internationalen Erfolge aufzuzählen, wäre ein langer langer Absatz nötig. Einen Einblick gibt es zum Beispiel bie wikipedia.

Wie bei den wirklichen Stars häufiger der Fall, so hat auch Udo Jürgens zahlreiche Hits, die niemals in der Single-Auswertung notiert ware, aber dennoch zum Allgemeingut gezählt werden können. Eines davon ist beispielsweise Ich war noch niemals in New York, welches 1982 auf dem Album Silberstreifen erschien. Das Album selber war mäßig erfolgreich, Ich war noch niemals in New York avancierte dagegen zum Radiohit, auch befördert durch das Erscheinen als B-Seite zur Single Das wünsch ich dir (die sich aber auch niemals in den Charts platzieren konnte). 2007 dann wurde der Titel erstmals offiziell „gewürdigt“, als er den Titel zum Udo-Jürgens-Musical abgab. Und in diesem Jahr waren es die Sportfreunde Stiller, die den Klassiker für ihr sehr erfolgreiches MTV Unplugged in New York-Album coverten. Für diese Version konnten sie sogar den Meister himself überzeugen und so erschien nun als zweite offizielle Auskopplung aus dem Unplugged-Album Ich war noch niemals in New York in der Version Sportfreunde Stiller mit Udo Jürgens. Als ich das erste Mal diese Kombination bemerkte, habe ich ein wenig die Nase gerümpft. Dann aber, nachdem ich den Titel gehört hatte, änderte sich meine Meinung sofort. Es ist erstaunlich, was der Titel, der ja irgendwie doch in der Schublade „Schlager“ steckt, für eine Ausstrahlungskraft hat. Und in der neuen Version ist die Angestaubtheit und Biederkeit völlig verschwunden. Plötzlich ist da eben doch wieder die Sehnsucht nach Leben spürbar, dieser Wille und die Kraft, sein Leben eben selbst gestalten zu können. Natürlich immer auch mit Verlusten und Ängsten. Ich kann plötzlich erstmals die Sportfreunde Stiller als ernstzunehmende Band wahrnehmen und Udo Jürgens steht plötzlich ebenfalls wieder als wichtiger Künstler da, ohne Staub und Massenverdummungsmitgrölpathos. Ein paar CD-Käufer sind da vielleicht meiner Meinung, die CD steigt in dieser Woche ein auf Platz 27. Für Udo Jürgens ein Chart-Comeback nach 17 Jahre Pause.
