17th of July 1987: Pet Shop Boys Shot to No 1

It's A Sin by the Pet Shop Boys goes 26–1 in its third chart week. It is the highest jump top number 1 since the weekly list was enabled in 1971. So far it was YMCA by the Village People that held that record by going 24–1 in December 1978.

The record is broken by the first straight number 1 of the Fugees which launched their version of Killing Me Softly (With His Song) on the charts on July 1st 1996.
The record of highest jump to number one from inside the list was newly set on 17th of April 2015 by Wiz Khalifa Featuring Charlie Puth and their See You Again by a 39–1 leap.


Highest German song at #5 (LW 3) Guten Morgen liebe Sorgen by Jürgen von der Lippe - it is the only German production inside the Top 10
inside Top 10 there are six European productions. One of them (Spagna) comes from Italy (10–10).
