12th of Dec 2014

The German Band Aid 30 still is number 1 with its take on Do They Know It's Christmas?

James Newton Howard feat. Jennifer Lawrence go 7–2 with their patriotic anthem The Hanging Tree taken from the movie The Hunger Games: MockinJay Part I

New inside the Top10 and highest new entry comes from Jessie J. Masterpiece is only her second Top10 hit and the first time that high since Price Tag shot to number 3 in May 2011.

Habits by Swedish Tove Lo is what we call a sleeper hit. In its 29th chart week the song reaches its so far peak at number 16. The last song with such a long taking rise peaked two and a half years ago. It was Ma chérie by DJ Antoine which stopped at number 6.

28th of Nov. 2014: David Guetta vs. Band Aid

The second week at number 1 for Dangerous makes David Guetta Feat. Sam Martin the acts with most weeks spent at the Top in 2014. Nine weeks–that is the result of both lovers on the sun and Dangerous. Pharrell Williams only collected eight weeks with one song: Happy which still serves as the longest running number 1 single this year.

Highest new entry comes in at number 2. 30 years ago Do They Know It's Christmas? was first recorded. This year the Band Aid project was reformed and a new version is available collecting money for the fight against Ebola.
Stopping at runners up position makes this year's edition the second most successful in Germany. Even a German version was recorded and will probably chart soon on its own.
With Sinead O'Connor and Angelique Kidjo performing on the new recording both have a first chart entry in Germany since more than 20 years. And Roger Taylor far and away is the veteran of the project. His chart career started almost 40 years ago as a member of Queen.
The original recording from 1984 also charts this week again. It can be found at number 95 in its 26th chart week. All versions together (including a cover version by TV Allstars in 2003) collected 57 weeks inside the charts so far.

AronChupa arrives inside the Top10. Im An Albatroaz goes 17–10 and now makes the DJ and producer the most successful Swedish act in this week.

Still not released physically Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran jumps 26 places and lands at number 25.

A similar leap is taken by George Ezra's upcoming single Blame It On Me. The proper release on CD is scheduled for 28th of November. Already now the track is listed at number 28.
