March 3rd 17: Week Eight For Ed Sheeran

Well – Ed Sheeran still is the one who has the survey under his regency. Shape Of You spends an eighth consecutive week at #1 which adds him as the 17th chart act of this current decade doing so.
It is the 40th consecutive week with European participation at #1. Ten weeks short of the period June 19th 2015 to April 15th 2016.

At #4 the highest new entry stops in. Something Just Like This is a collaboration between super acts The Chainsmokers & Coldplay. The USAmerican DJ/producer duo so launches its second top 5 hit in 2017–predecessor Paris is overtaken by just one place. Once again it features itself as THE EDM act of the day. Coldplay adds a fifth top 10 hit to its all time account–the last one was Adventure Of A Lifetime at the end of 2015.

There are three more top10 entries. First of all Katy Perry's new single Chained To The Rhythm goes 13–6 in its third chart week. It is the tenth top 10 hit for the singer but the first since three years when Dark Horse rose to #6.
Third top 10 entry is dance track Tuesday by Turkish DJ Burak Yeter. It jumps eight places to #8 in its fourth chart week.
And finally Rag'n'Bone Man has a second top 10 hit by Skin rising one place to #10 in its fifth chart week.

It is this a very weak issue for German productions as the whole top20 only have one song on whom a German producer participated. It is Shed A Light by Robin Schulz & David Guetta Feat. Cheat Codes at #18. Best performing song in German is Ohne mein Team by Bonez MC RAF Camora feat. Maxwell sitting still pretty at #22. The last time songs in German performed as low was back in August past year. Having only one German production inside the top 20 dates back to October 2013. The song than was Stolen Dance by Milky Chance performing at #8.

Short under the top 20 two songs land with a big jump. At #21 You Don't Know Me by Jax Jones Feat. Raye stops by. It comes from #54 in its third chart week.
Due to carnival days Johnny Däpp by Austrian Lorenz Büffel is the biggest gainer of the year so far vaulting 55 places to #28. It is a given thing that in next weeks time nobody will care about that song anymore.

A 30 ranks leap takes Australian Bag Raiders to #60 with Shooting Stars. It is the second chart entry for the duo following top 20 hit Way Back Home from summer 2011.
20 places up is the result for newcomer Marian Hill. Its single Down stops at #67.
And also Lana del Rey jumps up the list. Her latest single Love lands at #68 after an 21 ranks leap. It is her highest performance since West Coast that peaked at #22 in June 2014.
