The sensation to tell today is: There is no new no.1. Still Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) by Felix Jaehn Feat. Jasmine Thompson rules both the official singles (sales) charts and the newly established Mega Charts. It is this the third week for the song and it now is hard on the way of becoming one of the most successful deep house no.1 tracks ever.
Midweek leader Jason Derulo finally lands at #2 with his Want To Want Me and has good perspectives being the hardest contestant to Felix Jaehn–but Swedish Eurovision entry by Måns Zelmerlöw won't win tonight.
Calling these little action sensational would be a cheating–the true sensation is that the winner of casting monster show DSDS Severino (Seeger) misses completely the Top. And that's not enough. By landing at number 10 with Hero Of My Heart he almost completely fails.
Although the rates of the show held on a low level compared to the 2000er years the show still had its audience. The big crash for the winner came right after the final on May 16th: News were spread around that Severino Seeger had to appear on court due to his cheating actions some years ago. The RTL channel and DSDS master Dieter Bohlen immediately distanced themselves from the newly crowned superstar. And so do the fans. The second single Love Me Like This was scheduled for 22nd of May–it is very likely seeing it miss an entry on the survey at all.
So far every winner of DSDS at least had a week long spot at no.1 with the first single. Except Elli Erl on second season who only peaked at number 3. Now there is set a new negative record. Good thing is having a 13rd season next year only can make things better.
Seeing Madcon's Don't Worry climbing again to #3 should be evidence enough for the still unbroken sales power of DSDS. The song was performed at the beginning of the final by the last three candidates.
Further on the way up David Guetta is. His Hey Mama (accompanied by Nicki Minaj & Afrojack now climbs 22–15 giving him the second Top20 entry after his #1 hit Dangerous in November/December 2014.
Worth noting the fact is that we do have five German productions inside the Top10 and a complete 8 inside the Top20. So after a short dullness in February/March we are back on the level of 2014 when German productions had there best presence in May and December.
Talking 'bout German productions and TV shows we have to mention the start of second season of Sing meinen Song. On Tuesday 19th of May first episode was aired focused on songs of Yvonne Catterfeld. Simultaneously latest album of the singer Lieber so from 2013 was re-released. As an effect the title song enters the list as an album cut as well. Number 23 is the highest rank the singer achieved since 2006. Additionally her latest single Pendel re-enters at #84 too.
Andreas Bourani also involved in the show can benefit from his appearance. His last single Auf anderen Wegen jumps 61–37 in its 35th chart week and will rise further for sure as next episode is spotted on his songs.
