And also will.i.am now matches with the current number 1 single his best performance at the top so far – it was Shut Up by his band The Black Eyed Peas which occupied the top spot in 2003/04 for six weeks.

The 48th chart single of Depeche Mode is crowned as the highest new entry at number 2. Heaven is the first Top 10 hit for the band in this recent decade –the 4th consecutive. It is already the 11th single that can reach number 2 or 1.

British productions are gaining strenghth again. There are four tracks with at list a guest role of a British act inside the Top 10 and two more between number 11 and 20. A presence not seen since February last year. To compare that figures: from the US there are 5 tracks inside the Top 10 and four more under the following 10 places.

Imagine Dragons can reach with their debut album Night Visions number 6 of the album list. The release also propells official single It’s Time into the Top 20. The big success of the album list this week comes from veteran HEINO. His cover album Mit freundlichen Grüßen broke the record of being the fastest selling digital album of all times. By the way it is Heino’s very first number one album
The balance of his single hits is not that much impressive at all. Anyhow three tracks of his album are entering the list. The best performance can be seen by digital single Junge (a cover of a hit by Die Ärzte) which lands pretty at number 27 – in the week of it’s official release it completely failed in entering the list. At the end of the survey one can find also Sonne (originally recorded by Rammstein #91) and Haus am See (originally by Peter Fox, #96).
Probably much more impressive than the ranks achieved is the fact that Heino is back in the singles list after a23 years long break. His whole career as a hit singles artist now spans completely 45 years. That’s not bad.

The recent list covers the week 1st to 7th February. Still 10 days to go for carnival days. Nonetheless the sound of carnival starts to invade the German list. The title track is the highest new entry at number 15 this week in the singles list although it is not scheduled for a release as a single itself. The most present artist of 2012 is starting the new year: Pitbull delivers the highest new entry with Feel This Moment at number 12. It is his 21st charting track in this decade and the 25th at all. His partner on the song Christina Aguilera also counts 25 chart hits with this entry and now spends 15 consecutive years inside the German charts. The single itself will be available on CD from February 22nd on.

With the success of Ellie Goulding’s Lights the label scheduled a re-release of the single CD for February 15th. This week the song rises 26–19 and probably this track will become her first Top 10 hit on German shores.

Also worth mentioning Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz reach the Top 20 with Thrift Shop. The song still isn’t signed to a label and sells directly from the artist’s platform. That’s unbelievable and probably shows what will happen in a few years within the whole music business.

Finally Nicki Minaj’s Va Va Voom catches fire and reaches the upper half of the list.

After her performance on Wetten dass… Leona Lewis is back in the list with her last hit Trouble. So far it spent only five weeks inside the list. That’s poor for a star like Leona Lewis is.

Rita Ora’s How We Do (Party) spends rising the last week on digital sales only . The track reaches now number 40.
